500 Year Timelapse of NYC

posted by on 22/04/2015

Construction started over 9 years ago, and the One World Trade Center is nearly open for business. It’s the tallest skyscraper in the Western hemisphere, and the fourth-tallest building in the world. We know, of course, that this building represents so much with regards to the tragedy that took place on 9/11, but it’s also another addition to the incredible skyline and urban development of New York City. It’s changed so much over so long, and it would be amazing to see this, right? Well, visitors to the One World Trade Center will be able to. The elevators in the building will show a 47-second time lapse of the city over 500 years on 9 high definition monitors, giving you the impression you’re rising to the 102nd floor in a glass elevator through time! AMAZING. Check out a video of the experience after the cut.

Reuben Wu | Alien Landscapes

posted by on 21/04/2015

With a huge uprise recently in urban photography and shots of cityscapes, it’s a welcome change to see some fantastic work of landscapes at the complete opposite end of the scale. Chicago-based artist Reuben Wu produces work that represents that of eerie alien landscapes, with little human life about and an otherworldly colour palette. Through a combination of three different projects, Wu’s photography convey the relationship between landscape and artifact. This stuff reminds me of Halo on the Xbox. View some of his work after the cut.
