Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

The Faces Of Facebook

posted by on 02/10/2013

What would it be like if there was a place that could house just over 1.2 Billion people all in the same place. Well Natalie Rojas has thought of way to do just that, the programmer has created a webpage that showcases every face from Facebook. The webpage instantly loads and initially looks like a whole bunch of noise however when you begin to zoom in on any section faces become visible. Theres even a feature where you can connect with your Facebook and find yourself on the page. Some people will obviously have an issue with security and breach of personal information, something that Nalatlie has taken into consideration which is why there is a statement on the website aimed at reassuring the naysayers. “Relax, We’re not breaking any Facebook privacy rules because we don’t store anyones private information, pictures or names. We’ve just found a harmless way to show 1,260,866,093 Facebook profile pictures and organise them in chronological order”. Click here and  find your own face!

Samsung – Over To You

posted by on 29/09/2013

As we know, brands are ensuring that every new handset has a level of functionality that makes it impossible for us to see our phones as just phones. The smarter our smartphones get, the more they become a part of our lifestyle. Samsung is no exception. Apple’s biggest rivals’ new range of Galaxy phones have boasted skills that puts them ahead of other handsets in the market, but their latest campaigns sees them using some familiar faces on the creative scene and regular consumers to show just how to put the skills to test. BMX pro Harry shows the S4′s slow-motion functionality, while Shadez The Misfit teases a new song and exhibits it’s double-camera filming feature in the recording studio. Suffoca take the S4 Active underwater, and Isamaya FFrench creates art with her phone. Check out the videos under the cut.

Apple Introduce New iPhones

posted by on 11/09/2013

Yesterday Apple introduced the hugely anticipated new iPhone 5s along with an all new, but not surprising, cheaper version dubbed the iPhone 5c. In addition to announcing two new handsets Apple also returned to the unveiling of iOS7 stating that it is to be released next week on September 18th. Existing iPhone users that are currently locked in contracts meaning that they wont be able to get their hands on the new phone will be able to freely upgrade their handsets to the latest iOS. Experiencing the new interface two days before the two new phones are released on September 20th. No doubt i’ll be calling my phone provider straight after I finish writing this demanding an upgrade. I Forgot My Phone | Short Film

posted by on 25/08/2013

I’m usually all about art direction and beautifully made films but this one isn’t visually the best but it’s content and simple storyline well resonate with most of us. It’s written by Charlene deGuzmann who also stars in this very short movie called I Forgot My Phone. In the film, she makes a compelling case for the dangers of over using our smart phones. We’ve turned into robots and it’s affecting the way we experience life, engage in conversations and our relationships. I know I have a problem, FOMO does get the better of me.  Are you the annoying friend that’s always on their phone or the friend that tries to keep the conversation flowing? Watch after the cut.

O2 | YrStore Pop-Up Shop

posted by on 20/08/2013

It’s always a nice change to come across something innovative in an industry that can, at times, feel boxed in by a brick wall. YrStore, one of Boxpark’s latest pop-up shops, has climbed over those neatly stacked pile of bricks and has shown us how technology and fashion can combine to make buying a t-shirt covered in fries and cats (if that’s something that interests you) an easy and enjoyable experience. Last Thursday Yin and I had the pleasure of visiting the YrStore pop-up shop in Boxpark for a blogger takeover event, as part of the O2 Campus Party. Check out our thoughts after the jump.

If you live in London, then the phrase, “there’s nothing to do,” is something that should never be uttered or even thought. It is blasphemous. There is always something going on in London; always something to do, to see, to taste and to hear. London is a jungle of opportunity. The great dilemma however is finding the best of what to do and making sure you do not spend your evening wandering from one terrible event to the next. This is where YPlan steps in, describing itself as, ‘Tonight’s Going Out App,’ YPlan presents you with a handpicked list of events in a neatly designed smartphone app that will never leave you hanging. Beats by Dre – Run Club

posted by on 08/08/2013

After years of breaking earbuds during his workouts, LeBron James teamed up with Dr. Dre in creating Powerbeats earphones; the only earphones engineered to deliver premium sound on the court, in the gym, or on the streets. Derek and I were able to try out Powerbeats for ourselves as we were recently invited to Beats Run Club at Lee Valley Athletics Centre where we took part in a training session with Olympic sprinter Adam Gemili, who at just nineteen years of age, is one of Team GB’s most promising athletes and looks to be amongst our best medal hopes for Rio 2016. More on the flipside.

Tube Tracker

posted by on 05/08/2013

YES! Tahirah will tell you how much I geeked out over this new iPhone app in the office, she didn’t get it. Deep down beneath this hipsteramus exterior, I’m a nerd and always have been one from my Millhouse lookalike days in Secondary School. Apps that’ll make my commute more bearable are always welcomed – though it won’t be speeding it up in anyway, it’ll just give me more of an indicator of when the trains will be arriving at the stations I journey from. Less time wasted. Right? Using the recently released TFL api for the Underground, Tube Tracker allows you to track what time the trains arrive at the platform and where they are. The same developer just released Tube Map Live which allows you to see where the trains are on the Tube Map in real time. Download on the reverse.
