Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

So many people head out on an adventure on their own by taking the plunge and head to a new country by themselves. Whether its a travelling trip or a permanent move, more and more youngsters are taking that leap of faith. I have two friends as we speak who are abroad all alone and as you know our very own Aaron done a round trip of Asia of which he so kindly documented. Now while I think it’s a great idea I just don’t think i’d be able to do it myself, one of the reasons being the loneliness. I need people around me! Fortunately i’m not the only one who feels like this and the good people over at Tripr decided to create an app that helps connect people on their travels. To read more about the app please read on.

Nintendo World Championship 2015

posted by on 14/05/2015

E3 is coming, and if you’re a gaming fan like me, this will excite you. Three days before it, though, something exciting is happening. Nintendo needs a miracle to become cool again, and this just may do it – after 25 years, the Nintendo World Championship is back. Touring cities across the United States in 1990, with the final being held in Hollywood, the tournament got people involved of all ages as they played Super Mario Bros, Rad Racer and Tetris, battling it out to be crowned champion. With gaming being an online phenomenon now, Nintendo will likely open spectating up to everyone through streaming. Can’t wait for this. More nostalgia after the cut.

500 Year Timelapse of NYC

posted by on 22/04/2015

Construction started over 9 years ago, and the One World Trade Center is nearly open for business. It’s the tallest skyscraper in the Western hemisphere, and the fourth-tallest building in the world. We know, of course, that this building represents so much with regards to the tragedy that took place on 9/11, but it’s also another addition to the incredible skyline and urban development of New York City. It’s changed so much over so long, and it would be amazing to see this, right? Well, visitors to the One World Trade Center will be able to. The elevators in the building will show a 47-second time lapse of the city over 500 years on 9 high definition monitors, giving you the impression you’re rising to the 102nd floor in a glass elevator through time! AMAZING. Check out a video of the experience after the cut.

iOS Game | Alto’s Adventure

posted by on 22/02/2015

We do like to post a bit of everything on the blog. As a source of daily inspiration, that should really know no limits. With that being said, I thought I’d share a brilliant game I have stumbled across on my iPad. Is this the most beautiful iOS game ever? Potentially. Alto’s Adventure is a new game on iOS that is both visually stunning and great fun to play. The game is a snowboarding adventure presented in amazing visuals, as you slide, jump and backflip your way down the never-ending mountain collecting your Lama, coins and other boosts. The game mechanism is similar to many others out there, but what sets Alto’s Adventure apart is the captivating graphics and accompanying audio. You’ll be playing all day. Check out a video after the cut and download from the iOS store for a mere £1.49.

Throwback Thursday – Sega Classics

posted by on 22/01/2015

Seeing what animator Dillon Markey did with his Power Glove (even though I don’t remember ever laying eyes on one) took me back a little bit. Gaming was a big part of childhood and for me it was all about playing Streets Of Rage until my eyes dried up… seriously that game was ridiculously hard! I never completed it until a few years ago when Niran bought Sega Classics for PS3 and we spent half a day trying to crack it, ha! We got there in the end, a life-long mission achieved. So this week’s throwback is dedicated to classic Sega games. Remember Shinobi? Or Sonic that literally had unlimited levels I don’t care what anyone says, no one ever completed it… and Sega took the piss because you couldn’t save your progress. Hard times. Well now you can find most of these games on iTunes… mind blown!

Power Glove Becomes Stop-Motion Device

posted by on 20/01/2015

Relax it was probably before your time, it’s not Nintendo’s latest attempt at derailing Microsoft’s Kinect. Upon discovery of the Power Glove, I did some research and while it would appear that it was an ambitious invention and also ahead of it’s time (released in 1989); it was also truly awful and therefore just about saw the light of day. Anyways, 25 years later animator Dillon Markey decided to pimp his Power Glove with bluetooth, thus, turning it into quite the formidable tool for stop-motion animation. Hopefully some day we’ll look back at Google Glass… and laugh. Watch after the break.

GoPro: 9 Front Flips Off A Tower

posted by on 17/01/2015

If there’s one extra thing I wish I had while travelling, it’s a GoPro. The compact and sturdy little camera would have been useful more times than I can count, whether while trekking through the jungle or jumping off of a cliff. An SLR just isn’t always appropriate. Never, however, did I have the opportunity to anything quite this crazy and even with a GoPro, I don’t think the prospect of such incredible footage could have pushed me to even climb the structure. This is most definitely a video you’ll love if you have a fear of heights! Check it out after the break.
