Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

NBA | The Return of Derrick Rose

posted by on 24/09/2013

Not many players had the impact that Derrick Rose had on the league after entering. Since being drafted no.1 pick for the Chicago Bulls, Rose has led his team to the playoffs every year, and became the youngest ever player to win the MVP award in 2011 aged just 22 when he led the Bulls to the Eastern Conference Finals after a league leading record of 62 wins and 20 losses. The following season, Rose had a career damaging injury in his left knee, tearing his ACL, requiring heavy surgery and a long recovery period. He was hyped for a comeback last season, but it wasn’t to be. But now, one of the most exciting and explosive point guards the game has seen in recent years is returning to the game we all love.

Neil Hilborn – OCD

posted by on 07/09/2013

It’s been a minute since I actually sat down and wrote something to share with you all that wasn’t music related i.e Eargasms or Throwback Thursday. I guess I should say sorry right? Truth be told, I haven’t really found anything of interest to share with you however if i’m completely honest I haven’t been searching as hard as I used to. My absence from non music related content stops here as I stumbled across a great video on YouTube today. Spoken word poetry can often go over my head, especially when i’m in an ignorant mood however this particular poem delivered by Neil Hilborn entitled ‘OCD‘ stopped me in my tracks. I replayed it three times in a row because I enjoyed it so much. Please take a moment to watch the video and listen to what he is saying, pay close attention towards the end because that is when the poem is most powerful. I hope you enjoy! P.S I know Yin is gonna love this.

How To Get Your Content Shared

posted by on 07/09/2013

Working in social insights, I’m always fascinated at research in to how the online social world works, and here we get a chance to look at the best ways to get your content shared. I think we’ve all done a bit of social ‘plugging’ in our time of something we want to share with the world. But it’s becoming more and more evident that when and how this content is shared is increasingly important to its visibility and likelihood of it being shared again. And let’s face it, we wouldn’t post that new vlog, those new images, or that new piece of writing if we didn’t want as many people as possible to see it. Take a look at the nice infographic after the jump to find out how and where to share your content. Very interesting indeed.

Ashton Kutcher’s Acceptance Speech

posted by on 15/08/2013

Now that’s more like it, a celebrity that talks sense. It’s refreshing to see a Hollywood actor use an opportunity to influence the younger generation with something profound and thought provoking. At the Teen Choice awards over the weekend, Ashton Kutcher came up to the stage to accept an award and instead of doing the usual: ‘Thank you guys for everything’ speech, he decided to inspire the audience with a few lessons he had learnt over the years as Chris Ashton Kutcher. Watch after the cut.

Beats by Dre – Run Club

posted by on 08/08/2013

After years of breaking earbuds during his workouts, LeBron James teamed up with Dr. Dre in creating Powerbeats earphones; the only earphones engineered to deliver premium sound on the court, in the gym, or on the streets. Derek and I were able to try out Powerbeats for ourselves as we were recently invited to Beats Run Club at Lee Valley Athletics Centre where we took part in a training session with Olympic sprinter Adam Gemili, who at just nineteen years of age, is one of Team GB’s most promising athletes and looks to be amongst our best medal hopes for Rio 2016. More on the flipside.

Introducing UberX

posted by on 13/07/2013

I’ve known about Uber for a minute now but just haven’t shared my love for the service with you all. Today is the day I present this great car service to you wonderful readers following their introduction of UberX. First let me start by explaining the concept of Uber, Uber is the epitome of luxury, enabling anyone to ride like royalty. Having slotted perfectly into and carved out their niche the car service provides luxury cars such as Jaguar, BMW and Audi as a mode of transport for those who would like to enhance their regular mini cab experience. Much like Addison Lee, an Uber ride can be ordered via their dedicated app which allows users to be picked up at any location. More on ther reverse.

Reflection #3

posted by on 08/07/2013

After 4 months of working on the swoosh account, I’ve become a walking/talking brand bot. The short snappy motivational phrases have started creepy into my lingo. This one in particular has stood out from the moment I came across it on the Black History Month – Nike Sportswear spot.

How the World Ends: According to Hollywood

posted by on 28/06/2013

You would be forgiven for thinking the end is nigh if you watch enough Hollywood disaster flicks, and there seem to be a lot around at the moment. The release of World War Z is the latest of these sour tales of apocalypse and destruction and to mark the occasion, Yahoo have produced a tongue-in-cheek info graphic documenting how the world ends according to Hollywood. Featuring everything from the worst danger zones to famous landmarks to avoid, it’s the definitive guide to surviving impending doom. Infographic after the break

Reflection #2

posted by on 14/05/2013

So it’s a little harder than I thought to write a Reflection post on a daily basis. Why? I don’t know, I guess I’ve been trying to do what I said in my last post – find balance. Four weeks on, I’ve come to a conclusion that doesn’t exist, especially in this day and age. There’s always something coming into your world to unsettle your life but I have no right to complain about that. Truly grateful for where I am right now, my new job is challenging, tough and creatively satisfying since I’m working on projects that I enjoy. Now I realise not everyone can say the same about their jobs, it’s all about finding what you enjoy, taking a risk and going for it. I was a drop out a few years back with poor A-Level grades and family who didn’t quite get what I wanted to do. I still don’t think they get what I do. More on the reverse.
