Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Oops, we’re a little late in the day with this one but I guess we’ll blame it on the Bank Holiday’s. Although we’re late we feel that it’s better late than never, especially when our selections are stacked full of musical goodness. Please take a moment to give this weeks selections a spin and think of them as a late Easter offering. Enjoy.

This week Eargasms seems to have unintentionally been pieced together with a theme in mind. That theme being friendship, the reason being is that three of the tracks in this weeks selection come from friends of Y&Y. Raheem Bakaré, Joel Baker and Joleon Davenue from Phoenix & The Flower Girl all have Y&Y ties however we would include them if their tracks weren’t cutting it #NoFavouritism. Take a listen to our friends and seem if you like just as must as we do, p.s there’s some Drake up in the mix too if you’re into that.

Better late than ever. Never late is better. Apologies for that Drake quote but it made my point clear. Here’s a few new songs for your ears, still not as many as we usually come across. I guess we’ve become somewhat picky when it comes to new music. So much mediocrity everywhere.

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 27/02/2014

*Clears throat and prepares falsetto* “I was just froooontin” is this week’s Throwback track- it was Pharrell Williams‘ debut single released in 2003 featuring Jay-Z and of course produced by Pharrell… well The Neptunes. Listening to some his new album prompted me to listen to his old stuff to remind myself that he’s a genius, not sure what my verdict is on the GIRL yet though! Anyway enjoy Frontin’ after the break.

Kanye West – ‘Never Let Me Down’ Studio Session

posted by on 14/02/2014

College Dropout is without a doubt one of my favourite albums to date and probably the album of my teenage years. From the sampling, honest lyricism, features and more, Ye really set the standard high with his debut album. This song is easily in my Top 5 of all time, big statement right there but it brings back lots of good memories for me. Yeezy’s finest. Pharrell’s reaction in this studio session is priceless. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since the album dropped that’s how you know you’re getting old.

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 13/02/2014

Throwback Thursday this week is dedicated to British singer Craig David…. what ever happened to him? At one point he was at the top of his game, next minute he’s covering David Bowie tunes. Anyway I’ve chosen “7 Days” for this week’s throwback and it’s taken from his debut album “Born To do It” which I’m sure brings back memories. The track was released in 2000- I’ve said this in quite a few throwback posts…. but I feel old knowing it’s been fourteen years. Anyway this is a classic, enjoy!
