Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

posted by on 16/12/2009

Drizzy release his notorious mixtape, So Far Gone at the start of the year and I can easily say its one of the best mixtapes I’ve ever heard. The mixtape created the hype for him, his buzz is now so big he could probably sell you a blank disc. Anyway the dude over at 2Dopeboyz have compiled the list of samples Drake used to create the mixtape. I love listening to samples to see what the producer has done; check out the ‘Best I Ever Had’ sample! dopeness. Link after the cut.

Timbaland: I'm done with Hip-Hop …Erm We Know!

posted by on 14/12/2009

Timbaland in a recent interview discussed his new album Shock Value.2, which I’m not entirely feeling. He stated that he wasn’t interested with working with artist from the “new hip hop generation” (although drake is featured on his latest album).

It’s been a slow week in terms of music and I haven’t had the chance to catch up with all the albums that have dropped this week. I’ve got a few tunes for ya’ll though, not as much as last week though. I’ll start off with a R&B all star remix of Trey Songz‘s Invented Sex. The remix features Mr.Confessions and Miss Keri Babyyy and it is fire.  Flip the hood for the link and the rest.

Flashback Friday – Maxwell

posted by on 11/12/2009

It’s that time of the week again and this week it’s my choice and I’ve chosen a classic Maxwell tune. This is probably his most successful song of his career, He puts his own soulful spin on the love making tune originally sang by Kate Bush.

Lupe Fiasco – Solar Midnite Video

posted by on 10/12/2009

Lupe Fiasco drops the video for his latest song, Solar Midnite, which is off the New Moon Soundtrack. I’m pretty sure all the hardcore hiphop fans must hate this tune! but i like it, its a new direction from him. His flow and lyrics are still dope but he’s spitting over a rock beat, can you dig it? Lil Wayne should take notes, this is how a rapper should do rock songs. Video after the cut.

I can just tell her album is going to be an instant classic. Flip the hood for the song and new videos from Kid Cudi & Trey Songz.

Blackroc The Album

Real hip-hop is not dead after all! Check out this collaboration between The Black Keys a blues-rock duo and several hip-hop and R&B artists! The album is called Blakroc and it’s actually phenomenal- droppin’ meaningful lyrics on top of dope rock inspired beats is reminiscent of some of Jay-Z’s work.

It’s that time of the week again! where I hook you up with some of the dopest tunes I’ve discovered this week. I’ll start things off with a track of Alicia Keys’ forthcoming project, The Element of Freedom. I’m sure the album will be a classic, she’s such an amazing vocalist! anyway the track is titled Unthinkable (I’m Ready) and its about a woman who’s ready to take the lead in her relationship. Track apparently features Drizzy Drake but I only hear him for like a split second in the background. Hit the read more button for tracks.

UPDATED – just found out that Drake wrote the song for Ms.Keys.
