Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Last week we hit up the recently opened Assaggetti, a nice Italian restaurant just off Haymarket- literally about 2 minutes walk from Piccadilly Station. The restaurant features an amazing menu packed with traditional Italian anti-pasti style plates. Read our review after the break.

The World's Biggest McDonalds @ London 2012 Olympics

posted by on 21/07/2011

Okay so Olympics are all about super fit athletes with perfect bodies running around winning medals whilst other people pay £££ to watch them compete. Instead of using this opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle (very much needed with the obesity)…they have allowed fast food giant McDonald’s to build their biggest ever restaurantin the Olympic Village in Stratford. 3,000 square foot in size and it’s one of four that will be placed around the site. According to estimations, 50,000 Big Macs and 180,000 portions of fries will be sold over the 29 days of Olympic & Paralympic games. I don’t even want to know how much profit it’ll make them! crazy amounts of money. Guess who might be going to see the Olympic site next week? I will try and photograph it for you guys.

Birra Moretti Brings Pop-up Gourmet Pizza Classes To London

posted by on 20/07/2011

Do you still order takeaway from Pizza Hut? I don’t and I just can’t bring myself to ordering from there any more. Not since I ate authentic Italian pizza in Rome and guess how much they cost? $5 euros for a large pizza with a drink. You just can’t compare it to the Pizza Hut one, it’s insulting! Authentic Italian beer brand Birra Moretti wants to teach you how to make these pizzas through ‘pop upgourmet pizza master classes this July. This is to celebrate il dolce far niente  – the Italian ethos of ‘the sweetness of doing nothing’ by inviting guests to gather at 3 popular London hotspots to eat, drink and enjoy a few master classes of pizza making. The Dishoom Chowpatty Beach Bar on the South Bank

posted by on 11/07/2011

It’s been open for a while but it’s only just been brought to my attention! Some people like to hang out by the river when we get our very rare and very coveted rays of sunshine, if you’re one of these people (I am) then you might want to check out the Southbank one of these days where exotic Bombay Cafe Dishoom have brought us the very beautiful Chowpatty Beach. It’s set to stay open for the whole summer up until 4 Oct… when we’ll probably be experiencing flash floods and thunder storms so I say visit there as soon as you can, while you still can! More info after the break.

Indali Lounge – Review

posted by on 26/06/2011

I’ve got a gripe with Indian restaurants in the UK. A lot of them just aren’t authentic, the quality of food is fantastically poor and spiceless in many of the ones you’ll find on Brick Lane. Indian food is spicy – if you go to an Indian restaurant and don’t have your taste buds set on fire during the meal then there’s clearly something wrong with your meal. You get the ‘clean’ washed down version of our cuisine, eating food that lacks spices is like reading a blog that lacks opinion. Most of them keep their food for days on end, some might even be microwaved ready made meals ha! Why do it to yourself? Do some research online before heading out for one. Indali Lounge is definitely not one of those. More on the reverse.

What happened? Taste of London happened! If you weren’t there getting stuck in the mud and stuffing your face with the finest in world-class cuisine this town has ever seen, then I’m afraid you’ve missed out! …There, there. This years’ unique festival took place in Regents Park last week over four consecutive “summer” days (Thursday-Sunday) serving up the best in food and drink as well as providing alluring entertainment. I’d like to thank Steph, my lovely cousin… well, cousin in the near future I hope (grr, put a ring on it already!) for the wonderful opportunity to attend this mouth-watering event!

The app also allows you to find restaurants in your area and place reservations and if you think thats great, you can even pay your bill via Paypal…which is strange but amazing! Not clear? More info on how it works after the jump.

The Wahaca Selection

posted by on 17/06/2011

I don’t think I need to remind you all of my love for Mexican food and in particular Wahaca‘s Mexican cuisine. They are undoubtedly the best Mexican chain in London, don’t even try challenge me! go there, taste the food and experience the service then you’ll see why I speak so highly about the place. A few of us headed down to the Wardour Street branch after work on Monday and me & her decided to go for the Wahaca Selection. Something different to the usual burrito that I get. The Wahaca selection is a combination of a few of their favourite dishes for 2 people to share. It was definitely worth the £19.95 price tag, if you wanted to buy the items separately it would cost around £30! maybe even more. Imagery and  more after the cut.
