Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Usually crafting from scratch, bespoke clothing designer Timothy Everest began his campaign to promote his first ever traditional collection. I’d say he’s headed in the right direction for a first collection, he’s kept it clean and simple focusing on classic everyday style and familiar pieces like parka’s, gillets, tailored chinos and denim which can all be seen in the campaign film. Uniqlo | Heattech Campaign

posted by on 13/11/2014

All this week Uniqlo have been campaigning to spread the word on HEATTECH. If you already shop at the Japanese outlet you would have come across it and/or gotten yourself a few pairs in the past! HEATTECH technology traps body heat in pockets of air to keep the wearer warm, but pieces from this collection are super thin and not the bulky fleece like fabric you might expect. To get the word out there, Uniqlo have teamed up with four ambassadors across the city to help demonstrate the versatility of the collection as they wear HEATTECH during their everyday activities. If you fancy trying your hand, then make sure you grab a voucher online or at one of Uniqlo’s remaining events listed below. Take the voucher into any UK Uniqlo store and you’ll get a free HEATTECH t-shirt in exchange.

River Island Autumn/Winter 2014 Campaign

posted by on 01/09/2014

Last week River Island invited us to a rather lavish dinner at a secret location in central London to celebrate the launch of their Autumn/Winter 2014 campaign. While at dinner, the fashion brand unveiled their campaign film and gave us a glimpse of its conception with a behind the scenes clip. This season RI have adopted a stylised approach by placing strong looks on bold coloured backgrounds and very minimal props – so we’re left with a striking presentation keeping the clothing as the focal point. On top of that, this also marks the launch of RI’s first TV advert which will be broadcast from today. Check it out after the break.

Stussy Fall/Winter 2014 Lookbook

posted by on 15/08/2014

It’s been a minute since we last shared a lookbook, mainly due to the saturation of the market. Everyone and their grandma have been producing lookbooks, SLRs are accessible to most people so there’s just hell of lot of mediocrity out there. Stussy presents their new FW14 collection with a dark black.white lookbook shot by photo journalist Francesco Giusti on the streets of Cuba. The fact they’ve used someone that’s not usually do editorial work is evident, the natural tones and depth in the imagery are beautiful. Simplicity of the whole thing works for me, showcases the collection which goes with the current trend of black/white/grey. Head on after the cut for more.

Archibald Optics | The Sun Collection

posted by on 13/08/2014

Each morning I’m plagued with the same basic question of ‘style’…contacts or spectacles. Long gone are the days when glasses were associated with the nerd / book-worm archetype, instead evolving into a lifestyle accessory for a little added sophistication or quirkiness. Season to season, I’ve observed the adoption of non-prescription glasses and statement eye-wear as an extension of one’s style, which over time become synonymous with an individual’s image (think John Lennon or Karl Lagerfeld without their iconic frames). I too have been searching for the perfect pair to complete my ‘look’; my signature silhouette if you will.

The Hat Maker

posted by on 12/08/2014

It’s always a joy to watch a person mesmerisingly work at their craft. Particularly when such craft is becoming lost in our modern world and the appreciation for it dwindling. We don’t tend to think about how our clothes are made, we care about what they look like but a machine churning out thousands of copies of the same item isn’t really worthy of our time. However, beautiful hand crafted pieces still exist and how they are made certainly deserves appreciation. Such items are an investment that should last for years to come as opposed to the 6 month trend pieces we tend to pick up on the high street. The video is short but spectacular, catch it and a wonderful description after the cut.
