Hyper Japan is the UK’s biggest celebration of Japanese culture, bringing together elements of both traditional and contemporary Japan to London (the easiest way to experience a slice of Japan without jumping on a plane). As YY’s resident ninja, I jumped at the opportunity to cover the 3 day expo held at the end of July in Earls Courts. Check out the full story after the cut.

Vans Custom Made + You

posted by on 27/07/2013

As cliché as it may sound, clothing is an extension of one’s being and nothing reflects character more than personalised/customised pieces (whether its bespoke or simply DIY). Ray-Ban Envision Tour

posted by on 11/06/2013

As you may know by now, we’re strong advocates of emerging talents realising their own unique creative vision. Inspired by this same ethos, the Ray-Ban Envision tour is all about vision – literally – with each event named after by Ray-Ban lenses’ unique characteristics. Joining the Ray-Ban Envision Tour is Willy Moon, a contemporary musician and producer, whose hit single ‘Yeah, Yeah’ became a retro cult classic when it was used for the Apple iPod advert in 2012. Performing on June 13th Willy Moon will play the ‘Built to Move’ gig on the Narrow Boat Frederick, an intimate stripped-back acoustic show to 30 lucky fans on the moving canal boat, surrounded by the bustling nightlife of Birmingham city centre – the area and the venue really never stop moving. I was blessed with the opportunity to attend a singing masterclass at the prestigious City Academy with an insanely talented redhead known as J Marie Cooper. Now I’m telling you, this woman has some of the fiercest vocals I’ve ever heard – the kind that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up as your jaw-drops right before you give her a standing ovation.
