Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Nike x Jordan | Quai 54 World Streetball Championship

posted by on 12/06/2015

Basketball is a global sport. Long gone are the days of the sport having a sole presence in the US. Not only are there a growing number of international players in the NBA, but there are also plenty of global basketball events. If you know anything about basketball, you should be familiar with Quai 54 – a streetball tournament held in Paris where players from all around the world come to win. Today marks the start of the 3-day tournament situated in the picturesque Place de la Concorde, right in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower. I’ll be there to shoot the event and hopefully play a little too! So keep an eye out on our social channels and for a full feature soon. To celebrate this years event, along with the 30th birthday of Jordan brand, Nike and Jordan have released some Europe exclusive kicks. Can’t say I’m a fan of any of them to be honest, but they may tickle the fancy of some people. Check out more on Q54 after the cut, and some info on these new drops.

A Clash of Cultures with Red Bull

posted by on 03/11/2014

So, did you catch the action? Last Thursday we were invited along to Red Bull’s world famous Culture Clash, and my word was it crazy. A 20,000 strong sell-out crowd filled Earl’s Court for a night to remember of music clashes between reigning champs BBK, A$AP MOB, Stone Love and, the winners of this year, Rebel Sound. As the crowd moshed the night away, David Rodigan and co. tore up every round leaving the others not knowing what hit them.

It’s back. For the fourth time, with four sounds, competing in four rounds, with one winner – Red Bull Music Academy returns to London for their groundbreaking Culture Clash. Entertaining a 20,000 strong crowd, the innovative event hosts a clash of sounds as four groups battle it out to win. This year the lineup is as strong as ever. A$AP Mob, Boy Better Know (reigning champs), Rebel Sound (consisting of Chase and Status, David Rodigan, and Shy Fx), and Stone Love. Yeah. Ridiculous.

A Visit To EGX 2014

posted by on 01/10/2014

My gaming days are slowly disappearing. When I say “gaming days” I mean a little more than a game of Fifa here and there. Still, my interest in gaming will always be there, albeit off the console as I watch gaming videos online and keep on top of upcoming releases to see how the gaming industry is developing as the years go on. It’s a hobby I invested in heavily growing up, and I don’t think I could ever just switch off (no pun intended). The world famous EGX (formally known as Eurogamer Expo) was in London once again last weekend and I thought it would be a fantastic time to visit my first gaming event. Big thanks to EGX for the access. Read on to see my thoughts of the event and some photos.

Return of the Rudeboy x We Are Cuts

posted by on 03/06/2014

From 13 June to 25 August, Somerset House will host the Return of the Rudeboy exhibition, a collaborative project between photographer Dean Chalkley and creative director Harris Elliot. The exhibition will showcase a series of photography and installations that reinvigorate The Rudeboy, which originated in 1950s Jamaica. In preparing for the exhibition, the duo have teamed up with renowned hair stylist Johnnie Sapong of We Are Cuts to set up the Rudeboy Barbers in Selfridges as part of The Beauty Project. I had the pleasure of being invited down for a much needed trim and a chat with the folk behind the project to find out more. You can find the result of my hair styling on my Instagram and get more info on the exhibition by checking out the full post.
