posted by on 28/11/2013

Earlier this week I was in the car with my mum playing a CD that was given to me by a friend. As soon as the CD started to play my mum started moaning and complaining and at one point shouted at me saying “turn this off you know I don’t like reggae”. Just as I was about to turn it off this weeks throwback track started to play and my mum was feeling the beat. I had to record the moment because the dance she was doing was too funny, peep the vid here. Now that you’ve seen the video and got a short snippet of our throwback track for this week why don’t you head on over to the flipside and listen to the song in full.

The Making of John Lewis – The Bear & The Hare Advert

posted by on 12/11/2013

On Saturday night John Lewis along with a few other big name brands stole the show during ITV‘s hit show The X-Factor with the unveiling of their Christmas advertisements. For the last couple years the John Lewis xmas ad has been received by the public in a very favourable manner and has even helped the music artists involved gain notoriety. With expectations high the ad was introduced to the world and instantly became a hit if social media is anything to go buy. The story of The Bear and The Hare took many back to yesteryear by reminding them of The Animals of farthing Wood series. Now a short clip showcasing how the advert was created has been released and I must say it is rather intriguing. It’s hard to believe that this ad took 6 months to make at a cost of over 1 million pounds, see how they made it after the cut.

The Garden Bridge

posted by on 10/11/2013

Ever thought that London needs a new bridge that people can use to cross the River Thames? Well architect Thomas Heatherwick along with actress Johanna Lumley has designed a great new landmark for the capital called ‘Garden Bridge‘. The design comes in as a answer to the Transport for London’s call for way to improve pedestrian links across the river. The new design will start at Temple tube station on the north side and link to the ITV tower on the South Bank. Lord Mervyn Davies – Chairman of The Garden Bridge Trust has said “This is the first major milestone for the project and marks a very clear intent to create a new landmark for London. The scheme has been shaped and developed into a proposal that will contribute significantly to the future of London’s development and we are committed to ensuring the Garden Bridge will be something that London can be proud of….. Our role is to take this project forward and to raise the necessary funds to build the bridge by the end of 2017.” Peep a couple more pics of the proposed design on the flipside.

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 07/11/2013

I’ve been on a proper oldskool jamming session as of late playing tunes from Randy Crawford, Dina Ross, Al Green to Luther Vandross. Following on from my listening habits this week today’s throwback track is stepping way back in time. I’ve said once before and i’ll say it again but I have to thank my mum for introducing me to all these artists throughout my childhood. Music was so good back then, music was timeless, music could be listened to always and forever. Please note that in the last sentence I left a little clue as to what song is being featured today. Take a guess and read on to see if you are right.
