Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

posted by on 08/04/2015

Despite having a high ranking spot on my bucket list, I have yet to commit to the gastronomic pilgrimage required for every self-proclaimed foodie however we were fortunate enough to experience a taste of Italy (literally) all without leaving London to celebrate the recent collaboration between Not Another Bill & Italian atelier II Bussetto. We discover how to enjoy an espresso, critique a classic wine and devour pizza like a true Sicilian after the cut.

Archibald Optics | The Sun Collection

Each morning I’m plagued with the same basic question of ‘style’…contacts or spectacles. Long gone are the days when glasses were associated with the nerd / book-worm archetype, instead evolving into a lifestyle accessory for a little added sophistication or quirkiness. Season to season, I’ve observed the adoption of non-prescription glasses and statement eye-wear as an extension of one’s style, which over time become synonymous with an individual’s image (think John Lennon or Karl Lagerfeld without their iconic frames). I too have been searching for the perfect pair to complete my ‘look’; my signature silhouette if you will.

As winter’s grip begins to (slowly) thaw, the changing of the seasons calls for a crucial spring/summer wardrobe update. They say ‘the shoes maketh the man’ and the Slip-On Shoe is no exception. Check out our favourite pair from the TOMS SS14 collection after the cut…

Young Blood, Old Shot

posted by on 28/03/2014

Film is dead. Long Live Film. Between the accessibility of the the digital camera and ubiquitous nature of the camera phone, its no wonder that the world of analogue photography is being dwarfed in mainstream. Despite the slow but reassuring resurgence over the past few years, the analogue club is still pretty inaccessible for the uninitiated. Luckily for those with an interest in the craft, two London-based photography collectives are celebrating the young mavericks who are keeping the art form alive…

River Island Design Forum: Joseph Turvey

As you may have gathered from the plethora of recent social network updates, yesterday marked the closing day of London Collections: Men. Due to an approaching work deadline (#sigh), my experience of LCM was limited to the catwalk shows that I was able to squeeze into my lunch break (My favourite being Oliver Spencer despite the fiasco with the burst water pipe).

The White Canvas Project: Rooftop Sessions

posted by on 28/10/2013

Last week, Supremebeing held the the 4th installation of their renown #WhiteCanvasProject with a helping hand (and a kindly donated rooftop) from London art collective EndoftheLine. The purpose…to create unique artworks by reclaiming and reinventing objects with no original purpose as art (the limited edition varsity jackets created by the artists were a bonus). In the words of actor/comedian Danny Kaye “Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can”…

posted by on 17/08/2013

Hyper Japan is the UK’s biggest celebration of Japanese culture, bringing together elements of both traditional and contemporary Japan to London (the easiest way to experience a slice of Japan without jumping on a plane). As YY’s resident ninja, I jumped at the opportunity to cover the 3 day expo held at the end of July in Earls Courts. Check out the full story after the cut.

Beats by Dre – Run Club

posted by on 08/08/2013

After years of breaking earbuds during his workouts, LeBron James teamed up with Dr. Dre in creating Powerbeats earphones; the only earphones engineered to deliver premium sound on the court, in the gym, or on the streets. Derek and I were able to try out Powerbeats for ourselves as we were recently invited to Beats Run Club at Lee Valley Athletics Centre where we took part in a training session with Olympic sprinter Adam Gemili, who at just nineteen years of age, is one of Team GB’s most promising athletes and looks to be amongst our best medal hopes for Rio 2016. More on the flipside.
