Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Seth Globepainter – Walking on a Dream

posted by on 26/03/2015

There is definitely something psychedelic about these murals that artist Seth Globepainter has been drawing all over the world. The paintings portray people, often young looking, being drawn into colourful whirlpools and the huge pieces cover entire buildings or walls. There’s certainly a suggestion in the work that art and colour can provide a temporary portal of escape but you can make your own mind up after the cut.

The Bucket Board

posted by on 25/03/2015

I think you can pretty much make everything out of anything in 2015, which is great because it means less waste, we can reuse things that would once contribute to the ruin of our planet. This time the guys over at The Bucket Board have come up with a way of recycling buckets and turning them into skateboards, not only is the idea wonderful, the video is beautifully shot and cut, press play after the jump.

Mr. Happy | A Vice Short

posted by on 23/03/2015

I just got round to watching this short film put out by Vice starring Chance the Rapper and was pleasantly surprised. The story centres around a young man suffering from heartbreak and depression, so this isn’t something to watch if you’re sensitive to such themes. The basic premise though is clever and its characters believable, even the cinematography is appealing. I’m not sure Chance is quite as good at acting as he is rapping but you definitely feel empathetic with his character. You’ll see the “twist” coming a mile off but it doesn’t undermine the quality of the short, click play after the cut.

Adidas Originals Tubular Runner New Releases

posted by on 19/03/2015

After picking up my first pair of Tubular Runner’s a couple of weeks ago, I’ve grown to like the shape more and more. Adidas Originals seem to be really pushing the design with a string of new releases in black, stone, blue and yellow. While an all black colour way will always be my choice, the “Sea to the Sky” pack in blue and yellow has a real appeal. Check them out after the cut.

Song of the Day | Benjamin Booker – Violent Shiver

posted by on 16/03/2015

Todays song is not something new but instead something I’ve had on repeat for over a week and have sent to numerous friends. Even my dad liked it, and he’s hard to please. Benjamin Booker is a blues rock singer/songwriter and guitarist from New Orleans, if you care for back story (from Wikipedia…). Although I’d much rather you just clicked play to be honest so that I can share this awesome song!

Song of the Day | Flatbush ZOMBiES ft Skepta – RedEye to Paris

posted by on 14/03/2015

I can’t help but put the emphasis on featuring artist Skepta when talking about this one. The London rapper shows once again why he’s currently one of the most influential artist’s in UK music right now and that his influence is extending far and beyond. This follows a string of powerful collaborations, some yet to be released, and precedes the highly anticipated release of Konnichiwa. Press play after the cut.

The Quiet Escape | A NYC Story

posted by on 12/03/2015

This short, poetically narrated, film is a story of one mans love/hate relationship with the city of New York. It probably expresses a feeling similar to that of a lot of people living in London. I try to be an optimist, so I see the the energy, the beauty and the abundance of life within London, but to some it’s very different. Ed David also raises the issue of gentrification which many people will be familiar with, however maybe that’s a discussion for another time. Check out the video after the cut.

Pez’s Sketchbook 2014

posted by on 12/03/2015

To continue our spree of illustrator features of late, including OhBones and Annarack, meet Pez. The French illustrator and painter recently decided to show off his 2014 Sketchbooks and we’re blown away. His work is very different to those we’ve shown in the past and he’s quite evidently inspired by graffiti art and pop culture. There’s nothing more to say, click through for awesomeness!

River Island Studio Collection

posted by on 12/03/2015

River Island‘s menswear gets stronger every year and this season the Studio Collection is once again an example of that. The sophisticated monochromatic colour palette adorns a selection of high end, technical, fabrics to create minimalist sportswear pieces with a tailored finish. Highlights of the collection, which will launch mid April, include the appliqué sweat, mac and the mesh bomber, which is undoubtedly a statement piece. Check out the collection, after the cut.

Annarack Illustration

posted by on 11/03/2015

Last month we featured the incredible illustrator OhBones and today I had the pleasure of being introduced to the Instagram of another great illustrator who goes by the name Annarack. I was instantly impressed by the intricate black ink pen illustrations, only to scroll further and discover some wonderful water colour painting and an undeniable sense of humour in some of her work. I’ve been inspired, so while I attempt to fill this empty Moleskine I have sitting next to me, you should check out her amazing art!
