Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Song Of The Day | Raheem Bakaré ft Tanika – Purple Sky

posted by on 09/03/2015

The sound track for today comes courtesy of Raheem Bakaré and his sexy single Purple Sky. This track is taken from his debut EP entitled AWOL. I would suggest getting the EP because this guy is seriously talented and his vocals are on point. In the past i’ve put you on to his cover of Sam Smith‘s ‘Stay With Me’ (see here) but it’s nice to share some of his own music with you once again. Enjoy!

Chase & Status | Short Film Directed By Raheem Bakare

posted by on 23/10/2011

Not too long ago I told y’all to get to know a friend of mine, Mr Raheem Bakare. However at that time I was introducing you all to him as a singer, then I told y’all to check out the video for Bluey Robinson‘s remix of ‘I Need A Dollar’ by Aloe Blacc. Now I giving you guys the oportunity to gain a further insight to this guy’s seemingly endless talent. He has shot a short film entitled Chase and Status, which sees lead actor Kwame Augustine running for his life from what appears to be a gang related threat. The short clip also stars Rowland Ngwana (I mention this because I also went to school with Rowland). Anywho check out the clip after the cut and let me know what you think, all feedback welcomed!

Get To Know | Raheem Bakaré

posted by on 28/05/2011

We here at Y&Y love to introduce new talent to the world and in this case i’m particularly excited because the guy i’m putting you guys on to is a person that I know. Raheem Bakaré has been circulating in the right circles such as accompanying Bluey Robinson on the  European leg of Justin Bieber‘s world tour mixing it up with the teen sensation, Willow Smith and her dad Will but yet his is still pretty much an unknown entity. His turn in the spotlight will come sooner rather than later and he is readying himself for it with a new mixtape that he is recording due sometime later this year but until then I would like you to hear a few of his tracks and get yourselves familiar with his name. This post is dedicated to @MrFatChance on twitter who sent me a nice tweet commending me on always delivering good music. Thank you.

This week Eargasms seems to have unintentionally been pieced together with a theme in mind. That theme being friendship, the reason being is that three of the tracks in this weeks selection come from friends of Y&Y. Raheem Bakaré, Joel Baker and Joleon Davenue from Phoenix & The Flower Girl all have Y&Y ties however we would include them if their tracks weren’t cutting it #NoFavouritism. Take a listen to our friends and seem if you like just as must as we do, p.s there’s some Drake up in the mix too if you’re into that.

Video | Bluey Robinson – I Need A Dollar (Remix)

posted by on 13/07/2011

I was meant to post this much earlier but I fell asleep last night while writing posts, my bad! Here we have the music video to a remix of Aloe Blacc’s ‘I Need A Dollar’ by rising star Bluey Robinson. This makes me particularly happy because the video was shot by a very talented friend of mine Raheem Bakare who you may remember from a post I wrote about him a few months ago, see here. Not content with being a great singer he wants to take on the world of photography and filmography. This remix it’s self is pretty cool and as ever Bluey delivers some decent vocals. I’m loving all the emerging talent coming from the UK and particularly here in London. See the video after the break.
