BRATHWAIT is an English brand made in America. Inspired by poet Richard Brathwait who the brand describe as the world’s first acclaimed Gentleman; BRATHWAIT pride themselves in producing high quality timepieces matching that of some of the top watch brands today and offering them at a relatively low price point. Most of their watches for about $150 dollars with a value of up to $500. The general feel of the brand is clean, simple and understated. More after the break
BRATHWAIT have recently launched ‘Beyond the Mountains’ a mini campaign in support of their latest piece, a minimalist wrist watch (also their first ever quartz watch) inspired by Sherpas, the people of Nepal. The idea behind the watch was to encapsulate the hard-working spirit of Sherpas as they strive to save lives’ climbing while risking their own.
In light of this, BRATHWAIt are donating a day’s work of wages to them, their families, and the surrounding community for each watch sold. Their goal is to keep the Sherpas below the death zone of 8000 meters, a zone where no human body can acclimatise to sustain life. BRATHWAIT do so by investing in alternatives to climbing above 8000 meters. Check out the campaign below.
