Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Throwback Thursday – Tamagotchi

posted by on 29/01/2015

Bet you had one of these. Back to the childhood, and another 90′s classic. The Tamagotchi was a handheld digital pet first sold by Bandai in 1996. That’s 19 years ago. NINETEEN YEARS. How old you feeling right about now? Personally, I can’t say I have many memories of mine other than it ALWAYS needing to be fed (reason being I was still pretty young). We all remember having one though. A bit strange to think we had a pet on a screen in our hands, and even now that’s still a little creepy to be honest, but back then, this ish was mindblowing. In fact, a friend today told me she had hers as a replacement of a real pet. You know, to save the scratches on the sofa. Ah, the beauty of the Tamagotchi. Read more after the cut.

DAILY PAPER Spring/Summer 2015

posted by on 29/01/2015

It’s been a while since a lookbook has made me utter even just a simple “ooo.” However this offering by Daily Paper, a Dutch brand based in Amsterdam, might even have produced an “ahh” in response to my “ooo.” The collection was inspired by Morocco and thus respectively shot their too. I’m impressed particularly by the styling and photography. While some of the shots may seem over exposed, I think it fits the clean aesthetic and distances itself from the typical dark and moody streetwear shoot you see repeatedly. Collection and lookbook after the cut!

Fantastic Four | Official Teaser Trailer

posted by on 28/01/2015

Marvel brings the heat with an official teaser trailer for their new Fantastic Four movie. I must say, I found the last one (2005) to be a little bit of a joke, and, as expected, we see a darker more serious angle for the remake ten years on. Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jaime Bell will play versions of Mr. Fantastic, Susan Storm, The Human Torch and The Thing respectively. The foursome develop their powers from a universe exploration trip and, of course, the future of mankind rests on their shoulders. Not sure what to make of it, to be honest. It’s definitely just a teaser, but I’m interested to see where they take the movie as it certainly seems a lot more serious than the previous. In cinemas 7th August. Peep the trailer after the cut.

Herschel Supply Co. | Spring 2015 Lookbook

posted by on 26/01/2015

Herschel Supply Co. never disappoint with their lookbooks. One of the only brands who have a consistently strong lookbook game. Location on point, strong visuals, spot on styling, oh and of course the bags aren’t bad either. For Spring 2015, Herschel take to Palm Springs, California to insert a piece of the desert in to their portfolio. Big fan of the collection this season, and it’s great to see Herschel to continue growing and adding to their styles. Check out some of the images and video lookbook after the cut.

Throwback Thursday – Sega Classics

posted by on 22/01/2015

Seeing what animator Dillon Markey did with his Power Glove (even though I don’t remember ever laying eyes on one) took me back a little bit. Gaming was a big part of childhood and for me it was all about playing Streets Of Rage until my eyes dried up… seriously that game was ridiculously hard! I never completed it until a few years ago when Niran bought Sega Classics for PS3 and we spent half a day trying to crack it, ha! We got there in the end, a life-long mission achieved. So this week’s throwback is dedicated to classic Sega games. Remember Shinobi? Or Sonic that literally had unlimited levels I don’t care what anyone says, no one ever completed it… and Sega took the piss because you couldn’t save your progress. Hard times. Well now you can find most of these games on iTunes… mind blown!

Power Glove Becomes Stop-Motion Device

posted by on 20/01/2015

Relax it was probably before your time, it’s not Nintendo’s latest attempt at derailing Microsoft’s Kinect. Upon discovery of the Power Glove, I did some research and while it would appear that it was an ambitious invention and also ahead of it’s time (released in 1989); it was also truly awful and therefore just about saw the light of day. Anyways, 25 years later animator Dillon Markey decided to pimp his Power Glove with bluetooth, thus, turning it into quite the formidable tool for stop-motion animation. Hopefully some day we’ll look back at Google Glass… and laugh. Watch after the break.

The London Eye Is Now Red

posted by on 20/01/2015

Coca Cola have signed a two year sponsorship deal that will see the London Eye turn red at night. Lights will illuminate the popular attraction so that it matches the colour of the soft drinks company for the next 730 days. Though this is good news for all involved with the brand it has brought some unwanted attention and complaints from health campaigners. Does this deal really send the wrong message to our youngsters about having a healthy lifestyle? I’m not so sure because i’m pretty sure that most people won’t even associate the colour of the Eye with Coke. What do you think of the newly crowned Coca Cola London Eye?

Mercedes-Benz | A Fistful of Wolves

posted by on 19/01/2015

Fashion films… if you’ve worked on any then you will surely appreciate ‘A Fistful of Wolves’, you might even have given the green light to some of the overdone and melodramatic advertising-models Mercedes – Benz have shamelessly mocked in their latest film to celebrate Berlin Fashion Week 2015 (and promote their C111 car). From the deep and meaningless monologue to the “intense” walk in slow motion to the cliché (but effective) “model getting out of bed” story board; Mercedes have produced probably one of the best fashion films in a while. Watch as Justin O’Shea finds himself caught up in a series of fashion advertising’s finest clichés. Watch after the break.

New Balance | Flying the Flag Collection

posted by on 18/01/2015

We all enjoy things made here on home turf, especially if they bring influences from the UK in to the design and thoughts behind the product. For Spring 2015, New Balance ‘Flying the Flag’ collection features three pairs of Made in UK footwear that are inspired by the UK flag in the classic NB models of the 1500, 577 and CT300. Really like the simplicity of these, especially the 577′s. These drop in online stores Feb 1st, so keep your eyes peeled. More imagery and a video of the production after jump.
