Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Eargasms

posted by on 23/06/2014

Sometimes one forgets how long it takes to construct an Eargasms post. Anywho, I hope you all enjoy the glorious variety in this weeks selection. I would like to give a special mention to the Sam Smith cover of Whitney Houston’s ‘How Will I Know’, this boy can really really sing. It’s actually not fair.

My Love (Bender Remix)

The sun is out, and every Summer music takes over our lives as we lap up every ray of sunshine we can get. Your playlist needs sorting out for the summer, and what better than a ultra chilled out remix of a huge summer hit. Bender, straight from NYC, not only has no idea what his name means over here in the UK, but also puts together some brilliant remixes. The saxophone sample works so well, and you can’t help but sing along as the tempo changes between the slowed down bass line and chorus we all love. Crank it up and enjoy the sun!

NAO x A.K PAUL

So Good

Talent seems to run rife in the Paul family doesn’t it. A.K Paul brother to the mysterious yet enticing Jai Paul has teamed up with London based vocalist Nao to create this piece of aural goodness. How else would you describe this song other than a funky synth groove, i love it.

LARRY FISHERMAN x SCHOOLBOY Q

Melt

With a little research I discovered that Larry Fisherman is the pseudonym of rapper Mac Miller, I probably should have known that. The beat on this is real chilled for a hip hop beat and ScHoolboy Q doesn’t fail to impress on the feature. Maybe I’ll start listening to some more Mac Miller?

MR CARMACK

Jay Z

Can this guy do any wrong? This time the producer from Hawaii has taken Jay’s verse from ‘Drunk in Love‘ and completely reworked the instrumental. A shame it’s only a couple of minutes long. Still, a couple of minutes of awesomeness that shows why if you don’t know about Carmack yet, you need to get educated. Dude is awesome. Turn it up and press play

ALT-J

Hunger Of The Pine

An Awesome Wave was such an _awesome_ album, on my first listen it just hit me like a _wave_. Ok terrible puns aside, Alt-J‘s debut album was dope, I listened to it numerous times last year and I’m still gutted to have missed them at Reading. This new track is off of their upcoming album _This Is All Yours_ and is due for release in September. If this is anything to go by, fans won’t be disappointed.

SAM SMITH

How Will I Know (Whitney Houston Cover)

Sam Smith has literally been blowing up the airwaves with his hit singles ‘Money On My Mind‘ and ‘Stay With Me‘. Currently he is fighting it out for the top spot in the US album charts and whilst doing his promo round in the states he stopped by at SiriusXM radio station to deliver what can only be described as a haunting yet soothing rendition of Whitney Houston‘s ‘How Will I Know‘. I’m starting to think that this young man can sing anything and make it sound good. His voice is just everything.
