Let Us Roam is an ongoing short film series supported by Leica Camera. The series features stories about photographers, artists, film makers and musicians who have come up through skateboarding culture. I can’t really give you the jibber jabber on the culture as my relationship with it goes as far as Tony Hawk’s Underground. That game did gas me to the point where I spent all birthday money on a board and protective pads to support me. I fell over once and never stepped foot on it again. First film in the series focuses on Ray Barbee, a legendary skateboarder with a multitude of skills in music and photography which came through skateboarding. If you’re passionate about creativity, then watch after the cut – he touches base on the topics on and how to relay his values onto his children.

‘Then photography, you’ve got to invest in it. You don’t just end at the product and be like ‘I’m done’. You’re responding right there at the moment, not really know what will happen. Waiting to catch that expression or that smile that’ll make the moment special. You’ve got to work. You’ve got to practice. At the heart of it is the desire to do it.’
