Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Red Wing – Justin Vernon of Bon Iver

posted by on 12/02/2014

Man we’ve been quiet. It’s time to change this, back to where it began – the blog side of things. It’s funny I had a nostalgic moment when visiting my old university yesterday with work, t’was a nice reminder of how far I’ve come and where it all began. Without Y&Y, I certainly wouldn’t be where I am now. Hence why I can’t slack on it when work gets busy. Right enough digression, time to share something beautiful that I stumbled across the other day from the good folks at Red Wing. As part of an ongoing series, they’ve teamed up with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver who wear the boots on a regular to give a glimpse into his life. I feel like they should do one on me, more on the reverse…

Lacoste SS14 – Life Is A Beautiful Sport Video

posted by on 07/02/2014

I was invited to the launch of the new SS14 campaign out in Paris a couple of weeks ago and had a blast. With awesome events and brilliant collections, Lacoste continues to impress. Their latest campaign video for their SS14 collection is no exception. Elegantly put together, the creative is full of emotion, a message and some real nice visuals. Touching on their sports and performance roots, Lacoste demonstrate how “taking a leap” can mean more than the long jump. Taking that leap is something that we all go through in life, probably on numerous occasions. Check out the brilliant video after the jump.

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 06/02/2014

This week’s throwback is taken from Kelis’ third album ‘Tasty’ which landed back in 2003… 11 years ago! Millionaire is one of Kelis’ better offerings for me as it’s a great mix of Electro-Funk-R&B, granted it isn’t an opinion shared widely. As for the video, that must have been some extensive casting process because those kids look exactly like Kelis and Andre. Anyway the track features and was produced by Andre 3000, enjoy.

Letter To A Person On Their First Day Here

posted by on 03/02/2014

You’ve got to love Kid President. He’s got more sense than most folks speaking at the Houses of Parliament. The kid’s latest video offers advice on how to a person – an awesome person to knew people on Earth aka for babies or aliens arriving on our planet. Probably for the former. He’s making a list of what kids need to know through the #thekidsneedtoknow hashtag – get involved. Watch video on the reverse.

Veras Slimline Card Holders

posted by on 03/02/2014

These guys usually pop up every summer with a new range of shoes for the season; they’ve been growing steadily and started producing their own accessories which caught my eye, particularly their leather goods. If you’re anything like me you’ll hate carrying thick wallets and you’ll prefer card holders. These slimline card holders, hold 4 cards (two each side), they’re very lightweight, fit perfectly in your pocket and priced from £20 I’m quite impressed with the quality of the leather and stitching detail. The Rickshaw Run

posted by on 03/02/2014

Back in September YouTube stars Jack and Finn Harries along with five of their friends entered The Rickshaw Run. The aim was to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust by driving across the width of India along with 90 other participants within a set amount of time. Their only mode of transport was to be these little old rickety Tuk Tuks that had no doors, no comforts and barely a chance of making the finish line in one piece. Alas they made it to the finish line following an eventful two and a half week trek across the country. Fortunately Jack, Finn and their talented friends documented the epic journey and produced a wonderfully crafted four part video series highlighting the trails and tribulations and all that they encountered whilst embarking on this trip. Watch the series after the cut.
