Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 05/12/2013

A few weeks ago my colleague at work started playing some oldskool tunes. These tunes had us dancing in the store as if we were at a party, we were on a trip down memory lane. I thought since we took a trip down memory lane i’d invite you guys along by selecting one of the songs we played for this weeks throwback track. Read on and get into this classic track from Gwen McCrae.

J. Cole | Live in London

posted by on 04/12/2013

J. Cole is at the O2 next year – be there. Review done. No, but honestly, the 28 year old from North Carolina put on one hell of a show last night at the Hammersmith Apollo (or whatever the hell it’s called these days) and I was lucky enough to witness it. During an energetic display of all the hits, J. Cole performed his heart out while the sell-out crowd rapped along word for word. With a set pushing 90mins, Cole was non-stop. His humorous personality shone through both during and between songs, orchestrating the crowd to the beat and lyrics. As he sipped on his bottle of Hennessy, he says how tonight London made him feel like Jay-Z. Right on. More after the cut.

BWGH for Puma – Bluefield

posted by on 03/12/2013

For me when it’s come to sportswear design, Puma haven’t really done anything exciting with their own sneakers and clothing for a while. Their collaborations on the other hand are always on point. Well, I say always except two mistake; one with SBTV guy Jamal and the other collection with Professor Green who both don’t have any style credibility. Especially the former. Nike have led the athletic wear industry for a minute now with adidas coming in at a close second so it’s nice to Puma willing to expand on their creative capabilities by teaming up with NYC-inspired French brand BWGH (Brooklyn We Go Hard). Inspired by a Jay-Z title for those of you who don’t know, the founders have combined their fascinations with Big Apple’s street culture with a French twist. They’ve brought this influence to Puma’s athletic wear and here we have the short film showcasing the design connections between the painter and the artist. Hop on after the cut to see a teaser of what’s coming.

Kyle Thompson’s Stunning Self Portraits

posted by on 03/12/2013

Sometimes we do things for our own satisfaction not realising that the outcome could potentially change the direction our lives were headed. 21 year Kyle Thompson was a delivery boy who spent a lot of his childhood plagued with anxiety and the fear of involving himself with others thus retreating and not fully exploring his talent. It wasn’t until he decided to feature himself in his work that things started to click into place. Using a Canon 60D Kyle tapped into his imagination and resourcefulness by using desk lamps for fog lights and flour for stardust to produce some stunning self portraits. With such exceptional results Kyle has now quit his delivery boy job and become a professional photographer. See more of his work when you read on.
