Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Discovering Manhood with Baxter of California

posted by on 06/11/2013

I have literally spent my entire day at my Mac researching for and writing a uni essay, so I really needed a little laugh this evening. Thankfully this excellent advert popped up on my radar and has given me ample chuckles. I use Baxter of California products to create my well groomed look (ahem) and would recommend their hair products in particular. However until they send us something over, let us just focus on the ad for now. It puts a comedic twist on a teenage boy “discovering his manhood” and I am sure guys in particular will relate to this video. Check it out after the cut!

Ethiopia One by Diego Arroyo

posted by on 04/11/2013

Powerful. NYC-based Spanish art director and photographer Diego Arroyo who recently travelled to Ethiopia to capture portraits of rare tribesmen and women from the Omo Valley tribes. Definitely worth the trip, the portraits are incredible – each one has great depth and tells stories behind their powerful eyes. If you’re interested in how he went about photographing them without being too invasive in their culture, have a read of his interview on My Modern Met. Have a gander at the rest after the cut.

Hotel Review | Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée

posted by on 02/11/2013

Last weekend just as the weather turned for the worse myself and Yin hopped on a plane and jetted off to the south of France. Nice was our destination with Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée being our place of residence during our short but sweet stay. You’ll be able to read more about what we got up to in Nice in due course but for now find out what we thought of the place we called home for two nights.

Beach and Surfing Photography by Morgan Maassen

posted by on 02/11/2013

So on my most recent photography inspiration hunt, I stumbled across Morgan Maassen – a 23-year old from California who puts a spin on the typical surfing photo. Moving away from the action-packed shots we’re used to seeing associated with surfing, Maassen captures vibrant, colourful intimate moments from the surfing world, creating a calmness that works amazingly well. It’s a pleasure to see photography that makes you feel something. The peaceful, content feeling I get when looking at Maassen’s work results in me struggling to take my eyes off every shot. I’ve always wanted to give underwater photography a go, and this has inspired me even more to do so. Check out some examples of Maassen’s photography after the cut.
