Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Jim Golden Studio’s Still Life Photography

posted by on 01/09/2013

Still life photography in this lay down style isn’t as easy as it looks especially if you’re doing it properly, not with your iPhone camera and Instagram. I’ve shot a fair few still life shots for my day job and it’s always a harder task than I initially expected as you’ve got to the products in line, all the spacing has to be equal and the most importantly visible to the viewer’s eyes so you’ve got to angle it just right. As well as that, shooting from above requires an extra set of kit to stabilize your camera. I’m still coming to grips with having my camera face down from above, on a tripod – what if it fell? £5000 on the floor just like that! *gulps* More on the reverse.

River Island A/W 2013

posted by on 01/09/2013

Man, I think I’ve been to my fair share of press events in the past 3-4 years and the majority of t hem are forgettable. Same thing, different brand type situation hence why I rarely attend any these days – time is of the essence and far too much mediocrity out there wasting valuable time. The lovely folks at River Island invited me down from Y&Y to their A/W blogger dinner, the flyer gave nothing away aside from a meeting location at their HQ in Central London. From there, we were whisked away to Shoreditch Town Hall’s basement which had fully decorated for this event. Opium Den themes which confused me at first as I wasn’t sure how the collection would correlate with theme but it did. Find out how after the cut.
