Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Li Wei’s Contemporary Art

posted by on 24/09/2013

First and foremost, I’d like to state that Li Wei doesn’t use any photo manipulation software to create these pieces. Yes, absolutely mind blown. All of these shots are taken in one frame, that perfect frame. I wonder how many attempts it takes him to get it. The Beijing based artist is renowned for his astounding gravity defying situation photographs, he fuses performance art and photography to showcase these illusions. Tricks are all the props, mirrors, wires, acrobatics and scaffolding- guess it’s a big production shoot to get everything in order. It’s still ridiculous! I’d like to see the BTS of his work.

NBA | The Return of Derrick Rose

posted by on 24/09/2013

Not many players had the impact that Derrick Rose had on the league after entering. Since being drafted no.1 pick for the Chicago Bulls, Rose has led his team to the playoffs every year, and became the youngest ever player to win the MVP award in 2011 aged just 22 when he led the Bulls to the Eastern Conference Finals after a league leading record of 62 wins and 20 losses. The following season, Rose had a career damaging injury in his left knee, tearing his ACL, requiring heavy surgery and a long recovery period. He was hyped for a comeback last season, but it wasn’t to be. But now, one of the most exciting and explosive point guards the game has seen in recent years is returning to the game we all love.

ELEVENPARIS Autumn/Winter 13

posted by on 19/09/2013

From the very first time we saw ELEVENPARIS‘ A/W13 collection some months back, Derek and I were impressed. It was edgy yet sophisticated and stood out among hoards of collections with some of the best outerwear pieces I had seen in a long time. We knew it was something we could really give character to and wasted no time in putting Derek behind and myself in front of the camera. The result and details of the collection after the jump.

Knucklehead

posted by on 18/09/2013

During an exploration of Vimeo for vidspiration, I stumbled upon Knucklehead, Coca Cola Zero‘s film about Joey “Knucklehead” Truman, a dancer from LA. Released last year and directed by Greg Brunkalla for Ogilvy Paris, the beautifully shot director’s cut of the story takes us through Joey’s life. We go from his tough upbringing to his recent triumphs, as narrated by him and the most important people to him. Press play under the jump for an inspiring watch.

Nike Snowboarding | Never Not Part 1

posted by on 17/09/2013

With Winter drawing in, it’s about time we start appreciating the cold weather a bit more. What better way than with yet another visually stunning video series from Nike, this time on the art of snowboarding. Some spectacular shots of some of the world’s most talented riders coasting down the powder white peaks of our beautiful planet, really make you appreciate the connection our (extreme) sports have with our environment and ever changing landscape… Damn, this is getting emotional. Look what you do to us, Nike! Enjoy the first part of this awesome movie after the jump.

RAINS

posted by on 16/09/2013

Now I’m no Derren Brown but if you look outside right now I bet it has either just rained, is raining or looks like it is going to rain. Am I right? It is never fun getting caught in a shower that drenches you to your soul leaving you wet, cold and feeling sorry for yourself before a long day at work or just while out in the city. No matter how big the umbrella the rain will always perform some covert acrobatics to sneak a trickle down your neck or mess with your precisely groomed hair. This is where fresh Danish brand RAINS has you covered (pun intended) and what better name for a brand dealing in waterproofs eyy? More after the splash.
