Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Eargasms

posted by on 25/09/2013

I’m back y’all. It’s been a whole minute since my last Eargasms post after I handed over the duties to our resident music junkie, DJB but Tahirah and I are taking over this week. Listen after the cut.

KELELA

Enemy

LA based vocalist Kelela Mizanekristos offers this banger as a taster from her debut mixtape, CUT 4 ME. Kelela’s sweet croon creates an almost contrary juxtaposition to her angry lyrics and NguzuNguzu‘s bass-heavy production. Look out for more emotive and personal tunes over heavy beats from her forthcoming offering, due out October 1st.

DRAKE

Tuscan Leather

It’d be offensive not to feature a song NWTS on here, it’s a good album – not ground-breaking but a solid effort from Aubrey. This is the stand out track for me, 40′s production is tight with the Whitney Houston sample.

PUSHA T x KENDRICK LAMAR

Alabaster Box

Damn. Drug rap at it’s best, take that term with a pinch of salt. Stank face and bop your head to this beat and flow. Pusha always brings it, he talks about, well you guessed it – cocaine and Kendrick flips it up talking about his father sniffing it during the 80′s crack epidemic.

SNOH AALEGRA

The Fall

I’d be lying if I said I know who she was before stumbling across this track on Soundcloud a few days back. Swedish born Snoh Aalegra is No ID’s new protégé and I can definitely see why with ‘The Fall’. Soulful vocals and No ID’s production just goes hand in hand, a recipe for success right there. Mellow end to this week’s Eargasms from Snoh – one to keep an eye out for.
