Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

We’ve have musical goodness seeping from our pours this week. Armed with the task of cutting the plethora of tunes that we amassed during the course of the week we decided to push the five song limit in order to house one more song. Head on over to the flipside and enrich your life by listening to these songs.

Miguel has most definitely been the go to guy to collaborate with in R&B music as of late, so it’s not really a surprise to see him hooking yet another musical talent. This time it’s Janelle Monae who enlists his services on her latest single from her forthcoming album. Primetime is, simply put, great music produced by great musical talents. There’s no need for much explaination or dissection, all that needs to be said is press play and have a listen.

Sam Smith proves he is more than just a vocal hook with Nirvana. Ready to make a name for himself after successful collaborations with Disclosure and Naughty Boy, his soulful voice is far too likeable to not be excited for his upcoming EP

Only You

Who knew Marques Houston was back in the studio making new music. I not mad about it though because he is one artist that I really enjoy, he is very underrated. Back with a Marvin Gaye inspired track Houston showcases his varied vocal ability. His falsetto is such a joy to listen to. If you aren’t familiar with Marques and his music then I firnly suggest you look him up and get your hands on his previous albums Veteran, Naked and MH.

One Half

Ethereal would be the best word to describe Julianna’s vocals. The Sigur Ros-esque production feels like a soundtrack to one of my dreams – it’s actually been produced by Alex Somers who’s responsible for the Icelandic band’s hits. Her album Nepenthe is out now, if it’s anything like this – it won’t disappoint.

All The Way Home

Tamar for me has done no wrong so far music wise. I have liked both her singles so far and with the impending release of her debut album Love & War in September she has unwrapped it’s third single ‘All The Way Home‘. It’s great R&B music as far as i’m concerned, R&B is making a return to prominence with some great new artists such as Tamar. Here’s hoping this trend continues.

Hurt You

Toni Braxton broke many a heart when she announced her retirement from music but it seems she just couldn’t stay away for too long. Now back with a new single, the first from her upcoming joint album with Babyface. Isn’t just sickening how talented her family is, you’ve just heard the soothing vocals of her younger sister Tamar and now we are blessed with the deep salutary tones of the original Braxton. It’s good to have her back.
