Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Child mindset can also be a natural fit-for people in getting music instructors, interested. Do say: Include fats with a few vitamins and minerals for the meals you presently consume. Yes No For supporting cheers! Anticipate to relocate. Consider teaching music in a summer camp or in a afterschool plan. Documentary | Ryan Leslie – Black Mozart

posted by on 30/07/2013

Innovation and taking things into your own hands seems to be the new trend that has hit the music industry lately. We’ve had Kanye present his music via a projection of his music video on the walls of many cities across the world. We’ve had Jay Z change the game with the release of his latest album Magna Carter Holy Grail and now we have Ryan Leslie doing his part to keep the wheels of change in motion. Ryan Leslie is set to release his new album Black Mozart later this summer and to prepare his fans he has released a 25 minute documentary which documents the albums recording process and other facets of Leslie’s life. Black Mozart was recorded and filmed in a week in early December 2012. The documentary serves as just the start of goodies that fans will be treated to should they sign up and become a member of his Renegade movement. Peep the documentary and learn more about the Renegades after the cut.

Douwe Egberts – Free Coffee Machine

posted by on 29/07/2013

I’ve started setting my alarms for 4.45am to get in werk before I go to work. Coffee is pretty much essential when you get up this early as crashing is more than likely around 8am, well at least I think so. As it could be all just be a placebo effect and funny that, I’ve just given it up for a month as of yesterday. Two espresso shots in the space of an hour really messed up my system leaving me all light headed and dizzy. Douwe Egberts‘ utilised the phenomenal effect of coffee in their latest brand activation, each person who walked by and yawned in front of their machine fitted with a camera and detector – received a free cup of their coffee. Watch on the reverse.

No Other Name

If you’ve been following us on Instagram, I mean, why wouldn’t you be? @Yinnyang do it now. You’ll have seen the video that I published on there yesterday recapping what we’ve done since launching #YYV3 in late March. It’s always nice to take a moment and look back at what we’ve created as we get tangled up into our day-to-day city life hustle, forgetting to take a moment to appreciate the glory of the process. The inspiration came from my Church‘s preview clip for their 2014 conference which is nothing short of amazing. Visually, the spoken word, everything – it’s just really well done, more on the reverse.

Three – Making Weather Reports Meaningful

posted by on 29/07/2013

Man, days like the past 2 weeks. I rarely complain about the weather, I’m a winter person – in fact, I regard Autumn/Spring in the UK as winter because it’s so chilled. It’s difficult to enjoy the warmth in a city like London, especially if you work in the city. Damn the commute; a sweat fest if you’re taking the train into central which makes it incredibly hard to dress for this climate, a t-shirt and pair of shorts won’t stop you from sweating when you’re packed like sardines at 8am. We’ve had an abundance of weather applications surface over the past 6 months, Three makes weather reports meaningful by telling you what you should wear that day. Simple.

Vans Custom Made + You

posted by on 27/07/2013

As cliché as it may sound, clothing is an extension of one’s being and nothing reflects character more than personalised/customised pieces (whether its bespoke or simply DIY). From the early days of bringing a square yard of fabric into a retail store to the web-based virtual program of today, custom Vans have been a tradition since its inception in 1966 and paired with it’s range of iconic silhouettes and designs…there is bound to be a pair that compliments your style. Last week, myself and  Aaron headed down to the newly opened Camden store for the first leg of the Custom Made + You tour which aims to celebrate Van’s long standing connection with the art scene…

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 25/07/2013

When thinking of what song would be good for a Throwback Thursday sometimes I get inspired by a song that I may have heard during the week, sometimes I decide to pick a song from a particular year and other times the song just picks itself. This week the inspiration came from a TV advert. I can’t remember what advert it was that I was watching but I just remember seeing the advert last night and instantly shouting out “Yep I got my Throwback track for this week”. This song remind me of my mum, those days from when I was a very young DJB and mum had her classics blasting from the speaker. She loved her some Randy Crawford so will be very happy that i’m bringing this song to your attention. ‘Street Life‘ was released way back in 1979 when Crawford performed with The Crusaders before heading off on her solo career. The song was brought back to life in 1997 when it was placed on the soundtrack for the Quentin Tarantino film Jackie Brown. Head on over and hit play to catch a serious grove with this song, this is a true throwback moment today. Enjoy!

Inspirational Typography by Scott Biersack

posted by on 24/07/2013

Beautiful work. Young American designer/letterer Scott Biersack‘s work is nothing short of impressive and inspiring. Each chalk piece takes around 5-7 hours of craft to complete and can easily be destroyed by anyone who wishes to wipe it. I’m actually in the process of planning my room refurb which will mostly be black, white and mahogany coloured wood with one wall covered in typography. Preferably a positive, motivational quote that’ll help me ass get out of bed on a daily basis. See if his work inspires you on this humid hump day, watch on the flipside.

Wonderland | A Short Film On Creativity

posted by on 22/07/2013

‘Stop planning the future. Live on the day. You can’t get from the start to the finish without running the race, you’ve got to focus on each step as opposed to looking at the finish line.’ Preach, I needed to hear that – been looking for too ahead into the future where I’ll settled down with a family, living near nature/beach. Sighs. This wonderful short film focuses on creativity, relationships, the difference between commercial work and the work you create for yourself. The short provides a great insight to the creative journey of a few talented people who’ve made something of themselves through a similar hustle. Extra bit of inspiration for your Monday morning.
