Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Can’t Fool Me

Earlier this month, these guys released their debut album ‘American Love’. Fusing old school funk & R&B with rock; Bad Rabbits have created a sound that is a: refreshing and b: fit for summer. I love how funky this band is, you can ell they’ve been bumping that Earth, Wind & Fire, Shalamar, Cameo- the lot! …’Can’t Fool Me’ is their latest single from the old school funk enfused LP, take a listen. The lead vocalist (who is Ghanaian btw) has some mean pipes on him too!

LoveHate Thing

LoveHate Thing is the second single taken from Wale’s impending third studio album. Wale has stated that with this album he wants to get that feeling of nostalgia, citing that it will have a vintage and very soulful sound. LoveHate definitely lives up to what he is trying to accomplish with this album. It is very refreshing to hear a rap song that hasn’t got that typical booty popping beat, isn’t boastful or full of metaphors for what they want to do or what they have done to a female in the bedroom. I’m over that, we need some more meaningful rap again. Not preachy but just more meaningful, we need storytellers not hit makers. Sam Dew’s vocals on this track are everything (his tone is so soothing), i’m gonna need to hear an album from this guy real soon!

Love and Hip-Hop may make this woman appear to be crazy and full of drama but when it comes down to it she is a very talented singer. Not to mention the only person to actually truly be making music with plans to release it. Others on that show just seem to be pretenders with promises of things to come but nothing has materialised so far. V.S.O.P is the first official single to be released from K’s upcoming album Rebellious Soul and samples Debra Laws 1981 classic ‘Very Special’. I’m really looking forward to hearing what Rebellious Soul has to offer, i’m rooting for K to success!

Better Off

Smooth, calming and chilled are just a few adjectives that can be used to describe this new song from Quadron. The track sees Kendrick Lamar grace with a short but sweet verse. He is the only feature on their upcoming album Avalance which hits stores June 4th, for those that don’t know Kendrick and Quadron have worked together in the past when he asked if they would be involved on his track ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe’. Get into this laid back affair and just let it relax you like it did me.

LaLa x Blackout Mashup

We’ve been supporting Mike for a minute now, keeping tabs on his rise and respecting his grind. While he writes for others and records music for his own project he still finds time to please his fans with one of his infamous covers. This time he has taken Naughty Boy’s La La and fused it with Wretch 32′s ‘Blackout’ and a faint hint of Emeli Sandé’s ‘Heaven’. The arrangement of this cover is great, the transitions between songs are seamless making it a very pleasant lil mash up to listen to. New music from Mike is on the horizon as he close to settling on what he wants to be his first official lead single but while we wait in anticipation for that you can catch him in action on July 25 at O2 Academy in Islington.
