It’s been a while since I bookmarked this collection to post, during the hiatus and some how let it slip under my radar when the site relaunched it. Dr. Martens have gone through such a strong rebrand in the past few years, a new more youthful led campaign with familiar faces and a strong visual narrative based upon the subcultures. Dr. Martens is a brand that has been adopted and subverted by a countless numbers of subcultures and sects of society in its history, in fact when I was growing (grand old age of 24 now) – the brand was most popular amongst the Camden goths and punks. Prior to that it was mods, skins and stylers, right now we don’t really have many subcultures. It’s the age of the individual, thanks to the rise of the internet and social media – we’re all hipsters. Whatever the heck that word means. More on the reverse.
