Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Memoto Camera

posted by on 30/04/2013

Imagine if you could document the rest of your life through photography? Without having to actually take photos manually every minute. Memoto, a kickstarter funded camera project has the solution. It’s a clip on camera that automatically takes photographs every 30 seconds and has GPS tracking embedded within them. No controls needed. Imagine, you could make a stop motion film of your whole life. If you remember to charge the camera every two days. More on the reverse.

I Will Not Let An Exam Result Decide My Fate

posted by on 29/04/2013

Sometimes you scroll through Facebook not really expecting to see anything but pure crap but you continue to scroll anyway. Today was one of those days where i was scrolling through a bunch of crap until I stumbled across this video of Suli Breaks speaking some spoken word poetry. The content of this poem really resonated with me as I am a Graduate who is still looking for a job. He breaks down how exams and exam results may not be the best way to assess students and expresses that they do not determine a persons overall career prospects. I may be doing this poem a disservice by trying to explain what it is all about so I urge all to just head on over to the flipside and give it a little watch. Enjoy.

Natalie Massanet’s Instagram Story

posted by on 28/04/2013

Definitely think this is a first, an Instagram biography. Wonderful crafted by Natalie Massanet, the founder of Net-A-Porter for Vogue’s Festival which took place yesterday. She decided to share her journey and important lessons that she learned along the way from Junior Editor to Founder and Executive chairman. She calls it the Bookagram/Instabook. Even if you’re not into fashion, it’s definitely an inspiring browse – her come up is insane. ‘WARNING! The following contains language that may be inspiring to some groups.’ Hop on after the cut.

Saatchi – Discover Art, Get Discovered

posted by on 26/04/2013

Anyone a frequent art gallery lurker?! Every time I do end up going to them, I always come across a piece that I’d like in my future home. Heck, I’m not spending £ millions on a genuine Van Gogh piece, the art buying world is something I don’t ever want to get into. Ain’t nobody got time for that or the overdraft. I don’t see anything wrong in buying a print, it’s not a replica – it’s a print. You’re never going to get a friend come around your house and say ‘OMG that’s a fake!’ – unless you’re pretty well off. The folks over at Saatchi have a good range of paintings for sale on offer online and the best part is, if you’re a talented artist – you can even sell your work on there. Picked a few of my favourite on the reverse.

Heavyweight: A Love Letter to London

posted by on 25/04/2013

What a glorious day in our beautiful city, the multifaceted Musa Owkonga picked no better day to release his new short film, a beautiful poem celebrating London life. Musa’s fighting talk about his hometown is something I can relate to, heck, why else would we be running this site if we didn’t love LONDON. What makes the this even more special is the interactivity – the 360 degree version by the folks at YellowBird is something special. Spare a few minutes, feed your ears and eyes. No place like home.

Paulo Succar Suits

posted by on 25/04/2013

When I look at these suits by Paulo Succar I can’t help but think about Dent de Man. Although two different brands with two different designers their unconventional approach to what suits can and should look like is quite similar. Not confined to the typical tones down safe box both offer a refreshing and so what out there take on a suit. Bright colours, patterns and bold graphics are at the very forefront of what Paulo Succar has to offer as you can see in this preview of his Spring/Summer collection. Take a look and let us know what you think of these very polarising suits.

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 25/04/2013

Some of y’all will be familiar with and may even love some ratchet TV, and TV doesn’t come anymore ratchet than Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta. Sometimes when watching these shows we get sucked into all the drama and can forget that some of these people are actually talented. K Michelle is a prime example, she is a great singer who happens to also be TV gold which for her unfortunately makes some us forget about her talents. To coincide with the premier of season 2 of Love & Hip-Hop ATL she introduced her new single ‘I Just Wanna’ to the world on Monday, so I think it’s only right that I keep this movement of trying to make people hear her music by dedicating this weeks Throwback Thursday to her. Get into her talents on the flip side with not one but two tracks provided for your enjoyment.
