JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE x JAY-Z
Mr Sexy Back returned to the musical sphere this week armed and ready to take back his place at the top of the tree. Equipped with a helping hand from raps finest Jay-Z and a fresh Timbaland beat which combines that retro vibe with modern interpretation. The horns are everything in this tune!……I have to address the huge elephant in the room though and point out that this sounds like a Robin Thicke joint. Not going lie had Robin done this track the vocals would be CRAY-Z (imagine the falsetto) however it would not be the smash hit that Justin is about to make it. Welcome back to the game Timberlake, we’ve been waiting a long ass time but I feel this was defo worth the wait. Who’s amped for this new album because I know I am!!!

MARIJN VAN DER MEER
What a beautiful song from an up and coming folk singer from the Netherlands. I came across it via the BRAVE short that I posted a few days back, click here. The song is filled with hope, confidence and warm tones that make it an easy listen, it’s wonderfully crafted together. Pay $1 and download the full track – it’s the commercial version of the full track that will be up soon.

WYNTER GORDON x SALOMON FAYE
‘Tomorrow‘
‘Tomorrow’ is an electronic cut with a tinge of old school Hip-Hop where the production is concerned; breezy vocals from Wynter and the rap verse from Salomon Faye makes for a chilled out session. The track is off her new EP ‘Human Condition Pt 2: Sanguine’. The second of a 4 part series called Human Condition. I’ve never really checked for Wynter to be honest, I thought she only wrote music and jumped on a few dance tracks here and there- but I’m sold on this. I found her EP’s through this song; check them out here.

WYCLEF JEAN
‘Hip-Hop‘
Just dropped a new track simply titled Hip-Hop, he expresses his love for the culture and recalls his humble beginnings. On the track he pays homage to a particular era featuring artists from back in the day like Talib Kweli, Queen Latifah and ‘R&B King’ Bobby Brown whilst shouting out to newer artists in the game like ASAP Rocky. Check it out, it makes for a positive listen.

DIGIPEDI X JINBO
‘Fantasy‘
Shout out to Joleon Davenue for putting me on to the music of his Korean brother Jinbo, aka Jinbo the SuperFreak. It’s the first single off his upcoming project with video production folks, Digipedi. Visually, lads it doesn’t disappoint – click play and you’ll see why. It’s a feel-good, smooth song that I’d think would do well on the radio here. Is it just me or do I hear NEXT – Too Close in the chorus? I fux with this track – looking forward to hearing more from him. Keep up to date with his project via 2013fantasy.com

JUNIP
José González‘s band Junip have released this intoxicating first single from their long awaited second album, which is set for release this Spring. It’s sure to be full of thoughtful lyrics, provoking percussion, plenty of emotional strumming and of course, González‘s unmistakable vocals – just what we all need sometimes.

DAWN RICHARD
Earlier this week, Dawn dropped her debut album ‘Goldenheart’ on which you’ll find ‘Frequency’; if you’ve already clicked play then you would have discovered an electronic R&B jam with a snakey bassline. It reminds me a little of ‘Motivation’. Check it out

KELLY ROWLAND
Miss Rowland is on her sexy and she isn’t afraid tell us all about it. Back with the second single to be taken from her new album Year Of The Woman she is once again displaying her love for sex. When I listen to the string of sexy tunes she has released in recent years then I can do nothing but hope to meet her again and fulfil her request to lay it on her *chuckles*

LAURA MVULA
With RCA by her side, Laura Mvula is set to release Green Garden on February 24th. I had never paid attention to Laura before this week but when I saw the video for her new single I became intrigued. The video filled with retro flair just tickled my curiosity and that curiosity lead me to another track of hers titled She. I didn’t know which track to introduce y’all to so I decided to introduce you to both. Check out her track ‘She‘.
