Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Sailor Jerry – Anthem

Sailor Jerry Anthem

To celebrate the last 10 years of Sailor Jerry mayhem, they have created a short film with never before seen archived footage from their classic Sailor Jerry Presents gigs, events and backyard barbecue shindigs. Quite like how the film ties in the rum’s origins incorporating WWII-era Honolulu material featuring the namesake, NormanSailor JerryCollins. I dig the way it’s all been compiled together, really gets across the Sailor Jerry vibe. Watch on reverse.

YouTube Capture

Creating videos and uploading the to YouTube and sharing it with your social media buddies on Facebook and Twitter on your iPhone has never been made easy, until now. YouTube Capture is a new app which allows you to shoot video content and upload it to YouTube instantly. From that you are then able to share your video on Facebook and Twitter seamlessly. As with regular uploads to YouTube you are still able to enable and apply all the same tools, such as caption edits and privacy settings, to your video. Currently the app is only designed for iOS users so those who do not own an iPhone or iPod touch will not be able to use this app. However an Android version is being worked on and should see a release early next year. Take a lil look at the video on the flipside to get a further insight to watch Capture is all about.

Burberry Prorsum | Year in Review Film 2012

posted by on 19/12/2012

The British brand that we’ve all come to love (again) but can’t afford, released a short film earlier this month. The film reviews Burberry’s journey throughout 2012 complete with shots from numerous catwalk shows, the opening of their mega-store on New Bond street and more. One of few brands that are establishing themselves as a digital agency, this film was going to be good. I love the composition, befitting of Burberry style- slick and simple; the classical music also adds a nice touch. This is something a high street brands could look into doing, given that stores like Topman or Zara glide through trends every other day, it could be interesting. Anyway, another great year for Burberry. Alexander Safonov's Breathtaking Underwater Photography

Alexander Safonov's Breathtaking Underwater Photography

Mind-blown. Have any of you guys watched Life of Pi yet? Visually it’s probably my favourite film of the year, it’s just filled with back to back breathtaking 3D scenes of the nature and a lot of it was done via CGI. Russian software architect Alexander Safonov underwater photography is almost too good to be true and it’s all shot via his camera. He obtained a diving licence in 2002 to get away from the full-time computer lifestyle to start capturing the world beneath the water. It’s magical, almost surreal in some of these shots – not quite sure how he got so close to all the sharks without getting killed. Peep the rest of the imagery on the reverse.

3 Months

posted by on 18/12/2012

Almost. It’s been just over 2 and a half months since I started at Virgin Active. My attempts at physical activity since leaving high school in 2004 have been as successful as Arsenal. Always trying but never having the endurance to last the distance to see any real change. Even in the university years, every summer break I’d say to myself that I’d hit the gym and have that Ryan Gosling body by the time class kicks off again in October. Nope. I’d come back to class with my one pac as always. Continues on the reverse

Mailbox App

Mailbox app

Some people would say that the method of communication known as email has gotten lost amongst the array of communication mediums that we have at our disposal. Twitter, Facebook, BBM, iMessage, Instagram have all taken over as our way to communicate with one and other leaving emails to be obsolete for some. Orchestra believe that by making emails more fun and engaging much like our new forms of communications emails will once again become our favourite method of communication. Dubbed Mailbox, the app will will feature  swipe gestures which make it quicker and easier navigate through and control our inbox. Swiping a message in your inbox to the right will archive it, swiping to the left saves it for later scheduling it to pop up back in your inbox at a later and more convenient time. Swiping to the right and holding it deletes the message whilst swiping to the left and holding it brings up a menu where you can move or relabel the message. Written down on paper all these features don’t sound that exciting but seeing the app in action really brings it to life. Peep the video after the cut to see what Mailbox is all about.
