Mr. Porter - The Reinvention

Let’s be honest, how many of us can afford to regularly shop on Mr. Porter? There’s items on the site that cost more than my monthly salary. Alas, I frequently visit the site for one primary reason – the visual inspiration. Usually the beautifully shot photography features with various actors and models, each one has a distinct theme which is always refreshing. They’ve switched it up this time around with a new feature; their very first short film starring Michael K Williams of The Wire and Boardwalk Empire fame. As always, Mr. Porter never fail to impress with their visuals – it’s a masterpiece with strong narrative on the concept of personal style. Watch on the reverse.

One Sunday evening in April 2004, 32-year-old professional gambler Mr Ashley Revell walked into Las Vegas’ Plaza Hotel & Casino in a black tuxedo. His aim? To take the $135,300 he’d made the previous month selling everything he owned – including the clothes off his back – and place it on the roulette table in one gigantic, double-or-nothing bet. Pick right between black and red and he’d be twice as rich; wrong, and he’d walk away with nothing. Literally.
