BIG BOI X JAI PAUL X LITTLE DRAGON

Higher Res

Jai Paul is the guy that comes out of his cave once every 6 months to release a new song. In fact most of his productions do sound like they’ve been made from the bottom of a cup with a bit of funk. Big Boi‘s underrated – easily one of the best rappers out there and one that’s always willing to try a different sound. Vibes.

JHENÉ AIKO

Mirrors

Oh Jhené Aiko. You blew me away in Drake’s July with her airy vocals and naturally by her looks too – my oriental fever gets the better of me most of the time. She may not be the most GIFTED artist but she’s certainly smart and knows her niché. That’s what I call talent – you don’t need a crazy vocal range to make good music. Click play – I dig the B&W video.

TAMAR BRAXTON

Love and War

Love & War is the new single from the younger sister of Toni Braxton, Tamar. Tamar polarises opinion with her outgoing, bubbly, sometimes overbearing, personality however it can not be denied that this chick can sing. Upon hearing the track I was instantly impressed! her vocals give me Toni Braxton & Keyshia Cole tease however Tamar is able to effortlessly out-sing both. What do you think of the track? Will this finally be able to allow Tamar’s light to shine bright and be noticed as a singer rather than the younger sister of Toni Braxton.

J COLE

Miss America Reprise

Cole’s debut was a disappointment in comparison to his mixtapes, over produced and the lyrical content had become stale and boring to many. It just seemed like Cole was moaning about the hustle all day long even after making it. Miss America Reprise gives us a much more aggressive direction, more raw, more social commentary from the Fayetteville rapper. It’s a marmite track for me, can’t tell if I love it or hate it.

KATY B X GEENEUS X JESSIE WARE

Aaliyah

Not my usual cup of tea, maybe a little too MoS at times. UK artist Katy B teams up with Jessie Ware pay homage to the late singer with a nice 90′s vibe track- it’s not your usual homage track with references to the girl on the dance floor who’s aura makes them envious. The Aaliyah. The track has a to it

CHRISETTE MICHELE

Audrey Hepburn: An Audiovisual Presentation is the new mixtape from Chrisette Michele. She traveled the world to places which were dear to Miss Hepburn herself for inspiration during the recording process of this freebie. The mixtape serves as an appetiser to her new album which is due to follow sometime next year. Since hearing ‘Charades‘, which i also featured in a previous instalment of Eargasms, I have been hugely anticipating the mixtape. Now that it is out I want to share it with you all so that you don’t miss out of some good music. Get to listening people :)
