Strike while the iron is still hot. When I was down and out earlier this week with a cold, I decided to finally give a show that I’ve slept on for a while. That show was Mad Men, which most of you already know about, it’s set in New York during the golden era of advertising in the 60s. 5 days and 30 episodes later, I think it’s fair to say I’m addicted. It’s all because of the lifestyle, style, industry, pitches and more. I’ve taken away a few lessons from it (I know it’s not real!) The one I want to share with you is the quote above from Duck Philips to Peggy when he tries to lure her to rival agency Grey. More on the reverse.

He reminds her this is her time as she has no mortgage to pay for (yet) nor a family to worry about. What are the perks of that? Getting drunk every night and partying? Spending excessively? Nope. Now is the best time to make sacrifices and put all that you can into your work so you can reap rewards in the future. Work smart. Make yourself indispensable like Don Draper.
