A Conversation With Folaju

We sat down for a coffee with the London-based photographer. There’s even a 2 Chainz reference.

56+1 x Beach London – What Next

posted by on 04/12/2012

If you have any spare time in the next two days, I suggest you head down to Beach London on Cheshire Street to check out their latest exhibition. It’s collaboration between themselves and publication 56+1 showcasing the work of an inspiring set of graduate illustrators. I checked it out on launch night – it’s a wonderful concept where each artist asks the next one a question that they’ll have to answer in the form of an illustration. Beach London got things started with the first question – If you could build anything, what would you build?. 56+1 is a series of publications, each one a collaboration chosen by Fivefootsix. For each issue, we choose a theme or concept that allows them to showcase the creative talent of an artist, writer or photographer that inspires them. Hop on after the cut.

It’s the powerful bold typeface and various different styles of illustration that does it for me. Nice to see an agency willing to invest time in a passion project to showcase the work of others. If only more people did the same. Big up Atticus!

Exhibitors:

James Jessiman
Charlie Cameron
Lorna Scobie
Joe Vass
Joshua Wiley
Ellie Andrews
Grace Helmer
Callum Robey
Simon Cheadle
Josh Checkly
