Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

The Worlds Largest Mens Shoe Department @ Selfridges London

posted by on 15/11/2012

They say that shoes make the man, well gentlemen with over 250 brands spread over 15,000 square feet, consider yourself made! Last week Selfridges London opened the doors to the largest mens shoe department in the world, with a stock of over 72,000 pairs of shoes, bespoke brand boutiques and a made-to-order shoe salon which gives you the option to select the leather, colour, stitching and sole of your shoe. Burberry, Prada and Tom Ford are just some of the many big name brands available but if, like myself, your pockets are not bulging with pink notes, then you can just as easily pick up a pair of Vans or Nike high tops. Selfridges also have plans for the future of the department with space for pop-up shops, exclusive collaborations and customisation services, all of which I am sure will lead the way in the ever developing world of mens fashion. In February 2013, designer Christian Louboutin is set to showcase a collection in a dedicated boutique, not that I could afford that little bit of plastic at the end of the shoelaces, however I am sure it will be worth a look.

posted by on 15/11/2012

Few things in fashion hold the title of timeless classics…Trenchcoats, Tan Brogues and Italian Suits (to name but a few) so it was a privilege when we were invited to lunch by Italian Fashion House Pal Zileri followed by a tailoring masterclass hosted by master tailor Bruno Magnaguagno at Bicester Village.

Official Trailer | Grand Theft Auto V

posted by on 15/11/2012

It may not be coming out until Spring 2013 but that hasn’t stopped Rockstar Games from drumming up interest in their latest instalment of the Grand Theft Auto series. The freshly released second trailer for the upcoming game hints to what the story may be about without giving to much away. In fact it is more of an advert showcasing the very things we have come to love about the GTA series. The great scenery, the cars and of course the realness in the story telling. I feel like I just watched a trailer for a movie lol. Peep the 2 minute clip after the cut and get excited for Grand Theft Auto V.

Revolights

posted by on 14/11/2012

I think I’m over a year late on this genius invention, my sincerest apologies for finding out sooner. My only excuse is that the fact I don’t cycle, haven’t done so since I was a young child and no, I live too far out to even consider cycling/risking my life to get to work in Oxford Circus. Revolights have a clear mission – to provide products that make roads safer for riders and drivers alike. We will lead the bicycle lighting market toward more forward-thinking, safety-minded products for cyclists. By forward-thinking, they mean bringing Tron/Akira‘s bikes to life via lighting. If you’re a geek like myself, your jaw will instantly drop when watching the product video on the reverse. It’s made me want to start cycling. Late at night. I’ll probably get jacked in my hood but at least I rode in style.

NYC Dark – What Happens In The Darkness

posted by on 14/11/2012

Eerie, eloquent and exquisite are three words I’d use to describe this narrated short by NYC-based creative storytellers Already Alive. ‘Look at the skyline, it just felt like looking at something that was wrong’ – the first few words to the film, focuses on the Big Apple post-Sandy. From what I heard through friends across the pond, the power outages across the city created an almost I Am Legend-esque emptiness to the city. Photographer Jared Levy and his friends decided to venture out and capture this rare moment on video. Watch what they put together after the cut.

Team Imani | YGF

posted by on 13/11/2012

London has always been a welcoming city for up and coming brands to express powerful messages through fashion. Londoners wear it and believe in what their wearing. London based Sport and lifestyle brand Team Imani is certainly a good example of this. As the brainchild of former Ghana U20 footballer Papa Agyemang. Team Imani is a brand with a core underlying message of faith and belief; a brand that is gradually building a presence in the London scene and football world. Agyemang had a desire to deliver positive statements in defiance of the ups and downs in football through the vehicle of fashion. As a result the brand “Imani” which is the Swahili word for faith was born. “TEAM” is the word to connect everyone who can associate with the message. Check out some Team Imani pieces after the jump

Tatty Devine at Selfridges

posted by on 13/11/2012

Last week I was invited to the new Tatty Devine pop-up shop in Selfridges to create a bespoke Name Necklace. Tatty Devine is an independent British company designing and micro-manufacturing original jewellery in the UK. One of their most recognisable pieces are the custom made Name Necklaces in bright acrylic, which have been worn by Ellie Goulding, Claudia Schiffer and Jessie J. You can now design your own Name Necklace to be laser cut and hand finished in front of you at their pop-up shop in Selfridges. After much consideration, and with the on hand help of the Tatty Devine girls, I eventually decided to have my name lasercut in glitter pink perspex in billboard lettering with a mirror silver bolt charm and silver chain. And voilà! Huge thanks to Emily and the lovely team! Create your own Tatty Devine Name Necklace here.

ATP World Tour Finals – The Lacoste Experience

posted by on 12/11/2012

You’ve got to love a spot of Tennis on a Sunday. Well, I’d be surprised if you didn’t love an experience like this, we were lucky enough to be invited down to Lacoste‘s sponsor village at the ATP Final Showdown inside the O2 Arena. In my 24 years here on Earth/London, I’m yet to visit and watch a game at Wimbledon. Although Tennis is one of my favourite sports to watch, that journey across London on the District Line and the wait outside Wimbledon has never appealed to me. ATP is much much more American with it’s in your face style of lighting and in-match glitz and glam in the shape of lights and animations. Not too mention the cloud of smoke that the players walk through as they walk onto the court, it is somewhat epic.

FILMography

posted by on 12/11/2012

Well I’ll be damned, this is a BRILLIANT concept – similar to Dear Photograph but this takes us snapshots from some our favourite films and places them in their modern day location. Must be incredibly time-consuming to pull together, walking around and locating that very backdrop from a scene. Check out some of my favourite FILMphotos after the reverse.
