SHAKKA
‘Sooner or Later’
Yes Shakka! It’s been a long minute since the world of Youtube fell in love with London-based musicians original and unique Shakkapella‘s. He’s finally got back around to making his own music after MTV Brand New and such, let’s just say it was definitely worth the wait. I don’t even know what genre to throw his style under, it’s a massive mix of reggae and soul that works well with his voice. Great video too, single will be out on iTunes next month. Until then, Shakka’s released his Shakkapella mp3s for us to enjoy. Download here.

ETTA BOND x RAF RILEY
Etta Bond and her partner in crime Mr Raf Riley must have had their cage rattled because they went in on a few people on this track. Let’s just say Tulisa & Rita Ora aren’t on the Christmas card list this year lol. Take a listen and have a lil chuckle.

ASHLEIGH ASHLEY
Now you may or may not have heard of Ashley but get acquainted with the young Londoner. She’s flipped reversed Danny Kleinmann’s title sequence from Casino Royale into a big band sound with a 21st century feel song. Criminal Angel is the first single from the singer’s upcoming EP and guess what? We were there in the studio when she put this together. Have a listen and let us know what you think!

JOJO
Jojo announced to the world that she is to release a mixtape this coming month in order to appease patiently waiting fans until her record label finally decide to release her long awaited third album. Speaking on the mixtape Jojo commented “This mixtape is meant to be experienced when you have 27-28 minutes to go on a little journey with me and listen to some stories. There are interludes, outerludes, random shit, my dad playing harmonica, and a conversation between my whole family at thanksgiving.”
Following her announcement the song ‘We Get By‘ found it’s way to the blogosphere as an introduction to the mixtape. I am fully loving Jojo’s new found attitude, her label need to get it together before releases all of the material she has recorded over the last couple years. She has said it herself “I JUST HAVE NO F*CKS TO GIVE!!!!” so be warned Blackground, be warned!

MATHAI
‘As Long As You Love Me (Cover)’
Yes, Mathai’s number one fan over here! I was watching her live set at stupid o’clock last week as she was streaming it live from LA. In my half-awake/sleep mode, I hadn’t even realised this song was a cover of a JBieb track. In fact, I haven’t kept up with radio to do so. Mathai’s cover is wonderful, certainly makes it her own. Looking forward to hearing more from her.

RIHANNA x CHRIS BROWN
Rihanna is on her 777 promotional tour this week to support the upcoming release of her 7th album in 7 years. While she’s jet-setting around the world her album found it’s way to the net and much like everybody else the song I was most anticipating was her duet with Chris Brown. The song is upbeat and fun and sends a clear message to whoever they intend to send a message to. I would at this point like to point out that Chris Brown and his ad libs gave me Michael Jackson tease. Seriously I think MJ jumped into his bones when recording cause the resemblance is uncanny.
