Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

The Capture Collective – Shootout

posted by on 30/11/2012

Boom. It’s great to see creative movements in around London that are innovating and getting recognised. People talk of NYC, Berlin and Paris being the hotspots for these type of movements on the rise but I think we’re not doing too bad ourselves. Folks need to stop with the grass is greener on the other side talks when they return from holiday – London’s amazing. Anywho, Damola and the family over at the Capture Collective want YOU to get involved in their latest project.  They want anyone that takes photographs on digital, film, or phone to get involved in London‘s only photography battle. Interested? Flick on over.

Mercedes SLS AMG – Desire | Advert

posted by on 30/11/2012

It seems like Mercedes are trying to branch out into a much younger demographic with their recent campaigns – I’m sure you all came across the ‘interactive‘ social advert featuring grime rapper Kano. This latest TV spot is all about controlling your own desires or letting the desire take control over you in a Devil-like manner. Scottish actor Dougray Scott plays the main role in this advert as a long lurker in the city, till he finds the SLS. Not quite sure how he managed to acquire it in the film but hey – ‘Desire is something you can’t control’.

Film Review | Rise of the Guardians

posted by on 29/11/2012

Just in time for the holiday season comes DreamWorks Animation’s second feature of the year, Rise of the Guardians. Based on the series of books by William Joyce, this story of childhood heroes uniting to stop a common threat often feels like the child version of the Avengers, and it will doubtless entertain many a young audience as Christmas approaches. However, although it makes for fun viewing, Guardians is ultimately bettered by many of its contemporaries.

Zara December 2012 Lookbook

posted by on 29/11/2012

Zara, another month another lookbook; looks like December is all about the dapper look. Neatly tailored suits in pin stripe, plain/traditional and even checkered, Zara has put together a series of looks that offer style tips to cover the Christmas period. in stores you’ll also find smart casual pieces like, turtle neck sweaters, cashmere knitwear, wool coats and a nice selection of accessories. I quite like the knitwear look (I call it knitwear-pon-knitwear) it’s an  odd ensemble but one that works pretty well- perhaps its the photography that’s deceiving my eyes! Lookbook after the break.

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 29/11/2012

Yes! it’s been quite a while since my last Throwback Thursday. It’s starting to get tough since Yang and I have been doing this for over 3 years now and trying not to overlap is a tad difficult. This week’s choice takes you back to 1995 where this group were probably at their peak. You may remember them from an appearance on Fresh Prince of Bel Air. You know who they are right? Hop on after the cut.

Elizabeth Gadd's Breath

posted by on 28/11/2012

Sincerest apologies for the lack of updates. I’ve been bed bound which has been highly annoying since I haven’t been able to properly look at my MacBook screen. Stupid Man-flu. Any who, seeing as I’m out of action, I’ve been browsing and watching a lot of different things to keep the inspiration flowing – that’s how I stumbled across 19 year old Elizabeth Gadd ‘s photography. She takes us on a magical journey with her imagery; a whimsical, fairytale-esque series aptly titled Breath. I’m so jealous of these youngsters with access to the woodlands, just seems like the perfect scenery to shoot from. She’s managed to combine nature with portraiture without losing the emotion. View her series on the reverse.

Rumour Mill | H&M x Givenchy

posted by on 27/11/2012

H&M have really struck gold with their ever expanding collaborative series. So far we have been treated to limited edition pieces from the collaborative efforts of H&M with Versace, Marni and Mason Martin Margiela and now another designer brand has been rumoured to become the next in the list of collaborators. Right now little is known or confirmed but what we do know is that past rumours have become a reality so with that being said it is extremely possible that we will be seeing a H&M x Givenchy range out sometime in 2013. Will you be buying should the rumour prove to be true?
