Morning people! Tomorrow night, the makers of Candy (does electric side) will be performing Jazz Cafe- they’ll be there all week.  On Thursday, Evisu will be opening a new store on Newburgh Street (next to Carnaby), the launch kicks off at 5pm. There are also great exhibitions on this week, like Hannah Sawtell’s Osculator at the ICA. More info after the break.

William Klein + Daido Moriyama Exhibition @ Tate
Ending 20th January 2013
With work from the 1950s to the present day, the exhibition demonstrates the visual affinity between their urgent, blurred and grainy style of photography and also their shared desire to convey street life and political protest, from anti-war demonstrations and gay pride marches to the effects of globalisation and urban deprivation.

Richard Hamilton: The Late Works @ National Gallery
Ending 13th January 2013
Up until his death at 89, Richard Hamilton (1922-2011) was planning this major exhibition of recent works conceived specifically for the National Gallery and including work never before seen by the public. The exhibition as a whole encapsulates many of the significant directions Hamilton’s art had taken over recent decades, when his international reputation soared.

RA Now @ Royal Academy of Arts
Ending 11th November 2012
The Royal Academy presents RA Now, a major exhibition and sale which will see the work of current Royal Academicians including Tracey Emin, Antony Gormley and Grayson Perry exhibited alongside work by Honorary Royal Academicians Frank Gehry, Cindy Sherman and Anselm Kiefer among others. Showcasing the rich diversity of the current membership, RA Now offers a revealing snapshot of the Royal Academy today.

A contemporary installation, Terminus Place, by painter Clive Head, known for his striking paintings of urban landscapes. The work forms part of his project From Victoria to Arcadia at Dulwich Picture Gallery and Marlborough Fine Art.

Hannah Sawtell: Osculator @ ICA
Ending 18th November
Hannah Sawtell’s exhibition, Osculator, transforms the ICA Theatre into a space that positions the viewer between a large-scale video collage and a multi-panel acoustic receptor. All of the material used by Sawtell in the installation is sourced from the internet, with the intention of exploring the physical and virtual dimensions of surplus capital, pairing the seductive language of advertising with the new technologies of excess and access.
