It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Film Review | Skyfall

posted by on 19/10/2012

It is not hard to imagine Academy award winning director and self-confessed Bond fan Sam Mendes playing a word game – not unlike the one Ian Fleming’s super-spy plays himself in Skyfall - when coming up with ideas for the 23rd installment of the 007 franchise. For what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the name James Bond? Exotic locales? Beautiful Bond women? High-octane action? Mendes has made sure to include all of the above and more, and the result is a near-perfect, quintessential Bond movie that honours all that came before it whilst continuing to evolve in new and exciting ways. Put simply, Bond is back, and he’s seldom been better.

GoPro HERO3 Promo Film

posted by on 19/10/2012

Good God. If you have a spare 5 minutes and 8 seconds, I suggest you click read more and watch the video on the reverse. It’s mind-blowing, shot all in 1080p HD at 60 frames a second during various extreme sports activities; the visuals are nothing short of amazing – you’ll need to pick your jaw after watching it. From my understanding, this new GoPro is the best one yet with Wi-Fi enabled features, three different colours and whole bunch of different FPS and new specs which I’ve listed on the reverse. Lookbook | Morris 2012 Autumn/Winter Collection

posted by on 19/10/2012

Sophisticated cool is how i’d describe Morris and their 2012 Autumn/Winter collection. I don’t actually have much to say other than I love the classic preppy vibe this lookbook oozes. I feel like I want to be apart of this lookbook just so I could be snapped looking a dapper as these male models look. Morris offer structure and elegance to a mans frame without appearing stiff and snobbish, it could almost be described as laid back dressed up (if that makes any sense). See exactly what i mean by reading on and viewing the collection for yourself.

Album Review | Brandy – Two Eleven [Deluxe Edition]

posted by on 19/10/2012

Long time readers will know that Brandy hardly gets a mention on this site and that’s not because we don’t like her or have anything against her but more the fact that she hasn’t done anything worth mentioning, until now. The 90’s saw major success for the young songstress with her self-titled debut album sold 6 million records worldwide. Fast-forward to recent times and Miss Norwood just hasn’t seemed to be able to catch a break. Fading into a distant but not forgotten memory leaving fans and R&B lovers like me just wishing that she could one day make a triumphant return.

posted by on 18/10/2012

Ouch, my eyes. Way too early in the morning for my eyes to be abused by Comic Sans. Not Strong Mark, a series by Russian designer Oleg Tarasov has recreated some of the World’s most recognisable logos using the infamous typeface. It’s weird, some of the logos actually work better with Comic Sans! Hop on after the cut to see the rest.

Everything Was Moving @ The Barbican

posted by on 18/10/2012

Photography is so much more than just images; well-taken photographs can capture emotions, stories, messages, memories and moments in history never to be repeated, all of which are suspended in time and forever to be relived. Everything Was Moving at the Barbican Art Gallery had been present in Yang’s “What’s On This Week” post for a few weeks and so after many, “I’ll go tomorrow’s”, I recently boarded the Metropolitan Line and made my way up to Barbican, not to be disappointed.

Throwback Thursday

posted by on 18/10/2012

This song is something of a gem, if you’re South African then you’ll instantly recognise it. In fact, I had no clue who he was till Amon told me of his story after watching a recent documentary on his life and the cult status that he has in SA. It’s astonishing to hear how his song blew him up to cult like status in the country but no one knew where he was for a good decade or so?! and after they found him, he chose to return back to his normal life as a demolition man. This my friends is real music, just a man and his guitar. More on the reverse.
