Apple are getting it left right and centre from other mobile dispensers and the latest to hit out is Nokia. The once upon a time monopoly took aim at Apple this week with their ad; the animated ad sets the scene in dreary looking society where everyone moves in unison to purchase the new iPhone. One man in the queue looks particularly uninspired by his new purchase and its lack of colour; suddenly colour bursts into the scene and people begin walking by with the new Lumia instead. Well…. It’s always slightly cringe worthy when brands make jibes at each other- you’re both selling luxury commodities not necessities!! But anyway, Nokia haven’t really shown why the Lumia is worth even paying attention to with this ad, quite frankly colours are hardly a USP in this context. However it’s a nice idea (for what it is) and it did make me laugh a little bit- perhaps they were going for the tongue-in-cheek approach just for a bit of fun. Thank God it’s an animation and not a traditional ad or that would have been a mighty waste of resources! Watch it below.
