Dope Quote #53
posted by Yin on 15/10/2012
Well hello there, it’s been a short while since I wrote one of these. I’ve got good reason for writing this one, facing a trial later with my first ever appraisal. I’m not too worried, though I did ask around for advice – not sure why since it’s going to be based on MY performance over the past 12 months. No one’s advice or words can change that. This week’s quote came from an ad that I walked by which features a time line of Abraham Lincoln‘s life, who knew he failed for 30 years straight? Before he finally won and became president. (see image on the reverse) One thing I’ve tried to do with Dope Quotes is keep it deeply personal, sharing stories from my life and linking to them to the quotes that really speak to me from the books and other pieces that I read. Call me an over sharer but for me – the more you reveal, the more people can relate. I honestly believe my past mistake, hurts and pain can help give someone else a future. What we’ve gone through enables us to help others. Sigh, I’ve kind of gone off topic! back on it on the flip side.

Candice shut it down with that tweet (below), gave me a quick reality check and it was exactly what I needed. FAITH in my own abilities – decisions have already been made. Don’t let difficulty keep you from daring to go where you’re meant to be going. In fact, all difficulty really does is discourage and detours us from our purpose through a lack of confidence or pride or fear. It’s time for me to head to bed as my internet is playing up and letting me do nothing online, I shall rise up tomorrow with hope and faith in ability and work over the past year to get through my appraisal. Fear and faith can’t coexist. Bring it on.
@niran7 Man, just pray. The advice of others can become white noise and have u acting like anyone but you. #Faith first!

‘We are all here for a reason on a particular path
You don’t need a curriculum to know that you are part of the math
Cats think I’m delirious, but I’m so damn serious’
Nothing is impossible. New week, renew your mind and go GEDDIT.
Louvado seja Deus.
