A Conversation With Folaju

We sat down for a coffee with the London-based photographer. There’s even a 2 Chainz reference.

NikeiD Studio – Yin & Yang LunarGlide 4

posted by on 20/09/2012

As a former running phobe, I have apprehensively signed up for the Nike Run To The Beat Half-Marathon alongside Tahirah & Candice (I couldn’t let the girls have all the fun). After completing the Nike British 10K, I have decided to up my game and double the distance. In my post run fatigue state, I entered a design competition and the folk at Nike was kind enough to grace a pair of LunarGlides with the Yin & Yang ‘tag’, check them out on the reverse…

Initially my sole motivation for joining the ‘Running Scene’ was a response to a challenge put forward by the guys at Control The Riot. As you know a Ninja never backs down from a challenge. After completing the British 10K, I triumphantly hung up my trainers in retirement however I realised (with much surprise) that I had grown attached to my running regime. The next logical (I use this word lightly) step would be to take on a bigger challenge…THE HALF MARATHON.

After surviving the British 10K, I joined the rest of the Y&Y team, RDC, NYC Bridgerunners and the various urban international running crews for the British 10k VIP Lounge at Corinthia Hotel. In between battling with exhaustion, sports massages and socialising, I managed to take part in a competition to win a pair of personalised LunarGlides. 5 weeks passed without any feedback and then one morning to my surprise a parcel arrives. Its seems they spelt my email wrong.

In parallel to the running trainers and skinny jeans trend, the fourth generation of the Nike LunarGlide has been dubbed one of the most popular lifestyle sneakers in the Nike running collection (As Niran would agree, I’m leaning towards the FlyKnits).

It has been difficult to run consistently with such a chaotic schedule but the Nike Training Club’s facebook plan has been a lifesaver. I fit into the first catergory…‘New runners’ who’s main goal is to finish, ‘Intermediate runners’ working towards a time and ‘Pros’ with a speedy goal in mind.

Test run results: Light, Glove-like fit and the dynamic support system helps with the shin splints I have been developed. *FIST PUMP*
