CIARA

Sorry

Ciara has been missing from the game for a little while now. People have kinda counted her out, doubting whether she can revive her career and come back with a killer album. With her signing with Epic records the signs looked good but then dates for when her new song would make its debut kept changing. Along with the fact that she had a fail attempt at a lead single with what is now being touted as a buzz song ‘Sweat’. ‘Sorry‘ finally premiered this week when the music video was added to CiCi’s Vevo page and all i can say is this is a muthafuding song, jheeze!!! That’s all your getting. No more description of the song all i can say is click play, you won’t be Sorry lol (pun intended)

SKRILLEX x DAMIAN MARLEY x DJ 2NTENZ TRAP

Make It Bun Dem Remix

You might have heard Skrillex and Damian Marley’s collab, we posted it a few Eargasms back! Here is a remix by DJ 2ntenz Trap; there actually isn’t that much of a difference apart from the fact that the beat is slightly more hip-hop influenced…the base heavy track provokes skanking.

KID CUDI

‘Creepers’

A lot of hype has surrounded the release of the G.O.O.D. music debut album, ‘Cruel Summer‘ this week. Cudi‘s ‘Creepers’ is my favourite pick of the album. The atmospheric opening to the song, followed by a dark, tribal drum pattern is the work of British wonky-pop producer, Dan Black and is the perfect accompaniment to Cudi’s trademark laidback sing-rap style. On a group album, with some really interesting appearances from the rest of the G.O.O.D. music clique, ‘Creepers’ really stands out as it’s the only track without a feature from anyone else – interesting as there’s actually footage of Cudi performing the track acapella at the progressive rock(?) festival, Rites of Sping in Pennsylvania in 2011…but Kanye clearly loved it enough to snap it up and place it on the album. ‘Creepers’ gets 5 stars from me!

MATHAI

Down By The River To Pray (Cover)

I think I’ve played this cover around 50 times since it was uploaded onto Youtube a few days ago. Mathai covers Allison Krauss‘s classic country song ‘Down By The River To Pray’ which ya’ll would have heard in the 00′s film – O Brother, Where Art Thou?. She definitely owns the song and gives it a more soulful feel to it, not at all country like the original. If you haven’t read our interview with up and coming American Indian singer then click here. Click play on the video, it’s something special – you’ll be left inspired. Giving is everything.

THE KILLERS

Miss Atomic Bomb

I’ve been a fan of The Killers since my teen years *ahem* thanks to the OC which I think is when the band first started emerging. After a few years of hiatus and solo projects, the band are back with their fourth album Battle Born which brings back all the excitement that I had for the very first. It’s classic Killers filled with nostalgic memories of Nevada, dark emotions, love, death and more. Brandon Flowers certainly has a strange view of the world but that’s what makes his song writing special. Go buy the album.

MISHA B

Do You Think Of Me

With its mix of 90s dance and contemporary pop, this is a great follow up to Misha B’s first single. The track is a little mellower and almost euphoric compared to Home Run, it shows off her vocal ability which is really impressive. Her delivery on this track is so soulful it neutralises its radio-ready attributes; it looks like they’re handling her talent quite well, let’s hope the album is good.

ITSNATE

Where She Learnt That At

Damn, I never thought I’d be posting a UK rapper‘s song in Eargasms any time soon. Props to ItsNate who just changed that, other UK rappers should take notes from the ‘Slocal‘ North London rapper’s smarter and more refined flow, the art direction of the visuals, beat choice, fried chicken and even the choice of women – all of which are on point. I guarantee you’ll be rapping along to the hook ‘where she learnt that at’ by the end of the song.

Make sure you keep an eye out for his new mixtape “Never Average Talking Excellent”which drops  in a few days time.
