One of the best books I read this year has to be ‘Velocity‘ by the founder of AKQA, Ajaz Ahmed and Nike‘s director of Digital Sport, Stefan Olander. If you haven’t read it, please pick it up some point – it’ll challenge you to better your game. I spotted this set of new promotional posters for the book, taking a very different direction with an illustration led piece rather than minimalist typography. Designer and illustrator Tavis Coburn‘s unique style is refreshing, reminiscent of 1940-50′s comic book art and the Russian avant-garde propaganda movement. His work + the excellent quotables from Velocity make for some pretty epic imagery, really hope he releases these designs as prints in his web store. More on the reverse yo.

Velocity is a book FULL of quotables – honestly, every page has a one liner that’s worth noting down. God bless the Kindle and it’s ability to bookmark so I can constantly go back and refresh my mind with inspiration.
