Puma has teamed up with Professor Green for a new menswear collection this autumn/winter. Featuring t-shirts, jumpers, snapbacks and jackets (including a very slick leather varsity piece), the line fuses Pro Green’s style with Puma’s casual sports-and-lifestyle wear. Being sold on ASOS.com and FootAsylum from mid-October, the move follows Pro’s recent collaboration with Relentless drinks. Derek and I went down to the launch recently to help celebrate the new line. Read on for more on the party and some shots from the lookbook.

Lots was going on at One Marylebone, the party location on the night. After navigating through a crazy long queue of VIPs and media, we hustled in – just missing the catwalk show. However, there was still plenty to do between the barber’s chair (Derek didn’t get a shape-up even though I tried to convince him to), the free bar, Meat Liquor burgers and the big tunes being spun by the DJ.

 

I didn’t manage to get a Meat Liquor burger. I may or may not still be aggrieved by this (I don’t even eat red meat, but they sure did smell good).

The line easily exceeded my expectations. Honestly, I’ve never noticed Professor Green with a particularly poignant style or distinctive image before so he wouldn’t have been an obvious pick as a fashion collaborator. In a way, this is somewhat reflected in the line, and actually works as a strength. Puma takes the lead, creating a clean take on Pro’s casual urban wear, with a very cute honey badger logo fronting most of the items.
