Jill Scott with Daley @ Somerset House – Summer Series
Triple Grammy winner Jill Scott has cemented her reputation as one of the world’s foremost soul divas. 2000 saw the release of her double platinum debut album Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1. Two more albums followed, spawning multiple worldwide tours. Scott has also found time to pen a New York Times bestselling poetry compilation. Her focus on the lyrical adds an inimitable potency to her live shows.

David Bailey’s East End @ Compressor House
Images of the East End by the iconic photographer that document the changes that the area has undergone, from the Kray’s era of the 1960s to pre-development Docklands in the 1980s to the recent redevelopment of Stratford in the build-up to London 2012. Part of Create 2012

Wednesday
Soul and R&B singer Betty Wright makes her debut at Jazz Café this week, showcasing tracks from her recent album “THE MOVIE” – produced by The Roots”. She’s influenced a generation of female singer-songwriters and continues to influence the world of hip hop, who sample some of her more famous material. Wright has been very much in the game over the past decade, working with younger artists like Joss Stone, Kelly Clarkson, Angie Stone, and others- this one’s not to be missed.

Design Museum Takeover @ The Design Museum
While the museum installs forthcoming exhibition Designed to Win, the galleries are CLOSED. On the ground floor there will be a series of Design Museum Takeovers by graphic design studios, publishers and collectives. The Design Museum Shop and Cafe will be also be open, and where stated lunch can be purchased in advance from Ticketweb. Fifty Years of Bond Style @ Barbican
The Barbican will be become a multisensory arena where the audience will gain insight into the creation and development of Bond style over five decades. The ‘Making Of’ style experience will also include insight into tailoring and costumes, set and production design, cars, gadgets and special effects, graphic design and motion graphics, exotic locations, stunts and props.

DJ Abrantee Presents Afrobeats @ Somerset House – Summer Series
Choice FM’s DJ Abrantee has pulled out all the stops for this very special night of live music featuring a wealth of names from the exploding Afrobeats music scene; Nigerian pioneer / superstar Olu Maintain, Ghana hit maker Atumpan, the UK’s hottest female on the Afrobeats scene May7ven and the most sought after kids on the block, Vibe Squad.

Emirates Air Line @ Royal Docks
The newly built cable cars connecting the O2 Arena and Royal Victoria Docks has finally been opened. Named the London Emirates Air Line, the 34 cabin cable car is able to transport 2500 people in each direction every hour. A one way trip will take approximately 5 minutes during peak times; during all other times, the journey will be slower to accommodate tourists
