Gosh, so much has happened since my last Olympic diary post! I couldn’t agree more with the old cliche ‘time flies when you are having a good time’. I am having the experience of my life as part of the TeamGB Olympic team and this is really just the beginning of great things to come over the next 2 weeks. Check out pictures after the jump.

I was delighted that we kicked off the entire Olympics with a 1-0 win against New Zealand last Wednesday and secured a quarter final place with a 3-0 win against Cameroon at the weekend. On Thursday we featured on the front page of every national newspaper which is definitely a first for women’s football in the UK. Generally it has been a slow start on the medals for TeamGB , as we are currently in 20th place on the medals chart but I am positive about medals prospects over the next 2 weeks. I am sure all of you watched the quintessentially British opening ceremony on Friday directed by Danny Boyle. What did you all think? I think it was a fantastic ceremony with a great mixture of comedy, drama, history, sentiment and emotion which successfully reminded the world about the journey of British culture to date.
Unfortunately we couldn’t walk out with the rest of TeamGB since we were in Cardiff preparing for our game against Cameroon but we dressed in the ceremony outfits so we were somewhat present in spirit. I had never even heard of some of the countries but isn’t it amazing the sport can bring together people from literally all ends of the earth! Incredible. Enjoy the pictures of me and the team at the Olympic Village and Millenium Stadium in Cardiff.
