Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

posted by on 04/07/2012

Film Watch is back! We have yet another jam packed month of films for your (our?) viewing pleasure in July, with the releases of acclaimed documentaries, a comedy with an intriguing premise, and an eagerly awaited superhero reboot. Of course, the movie that will likely draw the biggest crowds is a certain conclusion to another superhero franchise (you may have heard of it, it’s about a guy who dresses up like a Bat). Excited yet? Read on for the six films I’m most looking forward to watching this month.

Nike World Basketball Festival

posted by on 03/07/2012

One thing that Nike (pronounced Nike-y) does best is tapping into different subcultures successfully. This past weekend saw the mega brand teamed up with Choice FM and London School of Basketball to bring over World Basketball Festival to the heart of South London in Brixton.  It’s one part of the city I’ve only been to a handful of times, mainly down to the distance from my house in East and since my last visit, a lot has changed. Gentrification is gradually taking effect, as with much of London’s poorer parts. More on the reverse.

Nike – Game On, World | Advert

posted by on 02/07/2012

My God. Nike are slaying at the moment, so many new ground-breaking products and adverts. Hence why they’ve been all over the site as of late, you’ll be seeing another post tonight from a festival they put on over the weekend. Game On, World is all about the new Nike+ technology which allows you to track/gamify your training against your self, your friends and against the world through the site and other social networks. The more you train, the better you get – they’re taking digital sport to a whole new level with their recent developments. If you’re a nerd like me, then you’ll love the advert – think Mirror’s Edge meets Spiderman meets NBA Street. *jumps out of window*

Josh Osho – L.I.F.E | Album Review

posted by on 02/07/2012

To call twenty-one year old South Londoner Josh Osho an old soul is an easy, if not lazy moniker. His debut release, Redemption Days, spoke of finding atonement from your mistakes, “you’re a soldier, you’re a fighter…” His Childish-Gambino featuring follow-up, Giants, had equal depth as we were implored to reflect on ourselves. Therefore, I accurately hazarded a guess that his album, L.i.f.e was going to delve way deeper than girls and clubbing.

Whoa, we’re halfway there. Oh, livin’ on a prayer! *cut* half-way through 2012, blimey – time has flown by. It’s time to start reflecting what you’ve done so far this year, how you’ve progressed on last year’s efforts and such. This isn’t a dope quote post, it’s just a random foreword before I let y’all enjoy some audible treats after the cut. We’ve got songs from Miguel to Miss. Keys and Lupe Fiasco. You know what to do.
