Caribbean Cruising – Haiti & Jamaica | Royal Caribbean

It’s not often that you can claim to have woken up in a different country four days in a row but that’s exactly what happened when Adam and I took to the seas and embarked on our first full length cruise, courtesy of Royal Caribbean. A quick plane ride (please note the sarcasm as this plane […]

Moncler 60th Anniversary

posted by on 17/07/2012

If you’re one to head out to the slopes during the colder months, Moncler has been making fashion statements in skiwear since it was founded by René Ramillon sixty years ago. Benefiting from a close relationship with mountaineer Lionel Terray, Moncler’s first creations were put to the test where they needed to work most – in extremely low temperatures. Moncler’s consistent ability to combine practicality with a distinctly fashion-forward edge has ensured decades of success.

Vintage Americana

posted by on 16/07/2012

A prominent trend this spring/summer 12 is Vintage Americana. Full of ladylike shapes and cat-eye sunglasses, it’s very easy for the high street to adapt to and extremely wearable. Personally this trend is my favourite off the catwalk this summer, with big fashion houses such as Prada taking a rather more kitsch approach with cartoon car motifs appliquéd onto bags and heels with flames shooting off the back!

Y&Y 30 Seconds | Tahirah

posted by on 16/07/2012

Tahirah’s easily one of the most inspiring, most positive people in my life. She’ll bring a smile to your face even at the lowest of times and heck, we haven’t even spoken about how gifted she is. Her writing skills are something else but you should already know that from her posts. Get to know her after the cut. We’ve teamed up with Tandy of MadTatter Films who’s worked his magic on these videos; really capturing the essence of each family member. Also shout out to BKRY for hooking us with a dope sample! Summer vibes (we need it in the UK).

Dope Quote #49

posted by on 16/07/2012

It’s been a month since my last dope quote, why? I guess I took a break, not quite sure why but this post might just explain it. I think my greatest weakness is also my greatest strength – my passionate, workaholic nature. It totally backfired on me in the last few months; I was always up at 6, trying to stay focused and create for as much as possible. Striving my ass off wherever I can, rest was non-existent in my dictionary until I fell ill. Not just once, three/four times in the space of two months. The last time was the worst, ill to the point that I was coughing blood situation and unable to concentrate on anything. I’m fine now but that ill period taught me some very important lessons. Sunday Style Inspiration | Daniel Craig

posted by on 15/07/2012

A frequent member of GQ‘s yearly ‘Best Dressed Men‘ list, y’all shouldn’t be surprised I’ve picked Daniel Craig for this post. Ever since becoming Bond in the 00s, his style has been upgraded and naturally he’s now seen as someone with effortless class. As Bond, he’s renowned for his slim fit well tailored suits and in comparison with 007 actors before him – he’s a lot more built but yet manages to pull off the look. The look is polished, refined and not at all over the top. Continues on the reverse.

Mark Swaroop's Wedding Photography

posted by on 15/07/2012

Ah there’s just something about wedding photography that gets me every time. It’s probably the love, happiness and all round positivity that’s ever present at such a joyous occasion. Last week, I shot my very first wedding – it’s definitely going to be one I’ll remember for many years to come and I’ve learnt so much just from that single experience. It’s all about building up a relationship with the bride & groom so it’s easier to look out for those special moments of emotion and that make the wedding magical. Meet Indian wedding photographer, Mark Swaroop who does all that effortlessly. His images are quite heavily post processed but with Indian weddings – I feel all the colouring just works. We have the most colourful weddings, the sarees, gold, flowers – you name it. More on the reverse.

Levi's – Print Workshop With Anthony Burrill

posted by on 14/07/2012

5am in London on FRIDAY 13th. Most people are asleep and I’m awake trying to conjure up questions for one of my design idols – Anthony Burrill whilst editing the remaining 2000 wedding photographs from the past weekend’s shoot. The earliest I’m usually awake on an average day is 5:30am – 5am is just a tad too early since my average bedtime is 1am.  Yesterday, Levi’s launched its first ever London-based in-store Print Workshop in collaboration with acclaimed graphic designer Anthony Burrill; the interactive installation calls on Londoners to get their hands dirty and craft a screen print of their very own Levi’s tee with limited edition screens created by Anthony. Nike – Find Your Greatness

posted by on 14/07/2012

I said last week that I’d give it a break from posting Nike content as the brand has gotten so major coverage on the website as of late, don’t want to make readers feel as if we’re sponsored by the swoosh. We’re not, we just adore their brand direction and creativity. After two weeks of non-stop events in London, the brand have just unleashed their next set of virals as part of their inspirational campaign – FIND YOUR GREATNESS. They’ve teamed up gold medal winning Team GB athletes – Paula Radcliffe and Mark Cavendish. Great shorts that dig deep into the athlete’s past and reveals what obstacles they had to get over to get to where they are today. More after the cut.
